Hotel was absolutely fine. The pool and pool area were kept clean. Rooms very basic but clean - bathrooms were a little on the small side !!

Clean towels and sheets every other day. Breakfast was basic - evening meals were lovely, we had the choice of anything off the menu and the portions were huge (although serving chips with the starters was unusual!)

The staff were very friendly.

Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a low cost, clean and friendly hotel.

The hotel was right in the centre of the resort which was great you only had to walk across the street to the nearest bar or shop etc. the hotel was clean the cleaning staff were very friendly and some of the restaurant staff were friendly especially with the children. When we arrived we needed three rooms liked we booked, two doubles and one room with a cot, a camp bed and either a double or two single beds. The hotel manager couldn

We've just returned from this hotel, May 26th - June 2nd 2003. We thought the hotel was basic, cheap & cheerful, but it was clean and the food was small portions, but was ok. Breakfast was BASIC contintental, which consisted of bread, butter, jam, cheese and ham, with a pot of tea & coffee on the table. Evening meals were basic again, with a choice of two starters and the main meal was a set menu. If you didn't like the meal, you got the choice of pizza, omelette or spaghetti bolognese. Puddings were dismal, usually a fresh apple or orange, but some nights we were given the choice of an apple or orange! One evening we were even given ice-cream!

There's no evening entertainment in this hotel, but there's some lovely Taverns down the road. A great place to eat is Bongo's and Muses. They're just down the road from the Gouvia Hotel.

Gouvia beach isn't up to much, with the shingle beach. We spent a lot of time at the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel, which isn't far from the Gouvia Hotel. The beach at the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel is lovely and sandy, and we hired two sun beds for 4 Euro's each person for the day. We also spent our evening there, as it's a lovely hotel.

The shop owners in Gouvia are very pushy, and if we were looking at things we liked, they'd have it out our hands and in a carrier before we knew it! Shop owners in Corfu Town were just as pushy, always bugging us to buy their items. But we thought Corfu Town was lovely, and the Fort in Corfu Town is well worth visiting. We enyoyed it there. We caught the bus not far from the Gouvia Hotel, and it took about 20 minutes to get there.

All in all we had a good holiday, and if you're looking for a cheap holiday, with no frills, then the Gouvia Hotel is ok for you. I'd have been disappointed if this holiday was our main summer holiday, but it was fine for a cheap week away, but it's definately not the Ritz!!
