Kommeno bay is a beautiful location and is a good point from which to explore the island. (assuming you've hired a car or motor cycle). It's location is just 20 mins from Corfu town, an hour from the most Northern part of the island and just under 2 hours from the Southern tip and Kavos. The new Sea plane service to Paxos takes off in the bay and the terminal is only 10 mins from the hotel. The Sea Plane was a great experience even if a little bumpy and noisy. The terminal does not accept Credit cards but the sea Plane office in Corfu town does. That's another point, the guide books say credit cards widely accepted. This tends not to be the case outside of Corfu town and especially at petrol stations.

Komenno Bay is just south of Dassia at the start of the North East coast, with breath taking views of Albania and the mountains.
The resort itself is dominated by the hotels, (The Imperial and Eva Palace) although several private villas can be rented out.
The Bay is a haven for yatchts, and most days several of them anchor up and even stay overnight - this year one of the even had a firework party!
Gouvia Marina provides a great spectacle as you watch the flotillas and motor cruisers return each evening.
