Kontokali is a very small resort, with around 5 restaurants. We ate in Harrys which had a very limited menu and we wouldnt go back there. Telesilla was fantastic, great service and lovely food and they do greek dancing which is very entertaining. We ate there 4 times we enjoyed it that much.
The only downfall for Kontokali was there were no restaurants with a 'view', we like to eat and watch the sun set, but this was not an option in Kontokali or Gouvia.
Kontokali is about a 15 mins walk from the hotel, Gouvia about 8-10€ in a taxi. Gouvia had much more choice of restaurants, if you enjoy steak the only restaurant we found which did a good steak was the 'steak house' which is in Gouvia! Lamb Kleftico was very enjoyable at any restaurant. Gouvia has lots of shops and bars, footie on at some for those who are bothered. Cocktails around 4-5€ in most. One bar had an Elvis impersonator and he attracted quite a crowd and was very good.

The village of Kontokali is very rundown, the best part is the marina,we thought the next village Gouvia was a bit better more shops and places to eat.
However, saying that all the tavernas in Kontokali {contickely} served first class food at very reasonable prices,Argos in the marina,Zorbas, and Harrys bar for the mussels.
The beer bucket is fine for a pint and a coffee.

Only visited the actual town once so couldn't really pass judgement. The marina was very clean however, and public toilets amazingly clean.
The only beach we used was Kontokali Bay Hotel private beach which was spotless and beautiful.

the hotel is based in small bay so is not a loud lively location. there are selection of local places within 5 minutes walk for a quiet meal and drink. If you head for goavia marina there are some nice places on the way.
harry bar is great, family run excellent sea food and a favorite with the sailing clans both the millionaire to locals. we spent most nights chatting to Harry-loves his parkanikos team and has some great pictures off his travels with them. No larger louts in this area of town.
i would have a wander round the vast marina-there are some wonderful views and when you actully stand beside a £50M boat it takes your breath away. great for photos.
If you want more action then walk though the marina and exit at the goavia town gate, there are plenty bars, pubs and food places here. This is more younger here and serves what you would expect-worth a vist for night out but wouldnt waste to much time on it, More for the larger lovers and sunburnt brigade.
harrys is best for quiet night with freindly locals who love a chat and the wine flows all night.
