The resort was quiet which suited us as it was possible to sleep well at night. There was very little litter and we felt safe at all times. There are only a couple of tavernas both uphill. The nearest beach is a few minutes walk downhill and is unspoilt and uncrowded. We hired a car for 4 days and saw half the island which was very enjoyable especially as we visited inland villages and saw the real Corfu, full of history and tradition. a wonderful break in a nice, peaceful location. we would go back tomorrow!

As mentioned previously, hotel is really isolated. Surrounding are -
1. Beach 400m down(almost vertically). Hotel does run a free mini bus about every half-hour. Again, this is very picturesque and has two tavernas. Three Euro sunbed and extra two for parosol. Pedlos and canoes can also be hired.
2. Two two tavernas and two little shops are 200m up (again vertically). Reasonably priced and very friendly.
3. Other places nearby - none as such! We did the walks and found them really enjoyable. The lovely villages of Pelekas and Sinerades are at the ends of the rocky, olive tree lined tracks (40 minutes and 30 minutes respectively)and are lovely.
4. Corfu Town is well worth a visit, but maybe not on a Sunday (it's closed).

Not much to do around hotel. Hotel beach not bad, sea very clear.
Would do better to hire a car and explore, but if you just want a rest then this is the place for you.

We have been to Corfu before, so knew how remote this hotel was. We hired a car for the whole week, booking it independantly from home and not via Thomson I hasten to add (save yourself a few bob!)
It is very peaceful here, and with the aid of the car were easily able to visit the little villages dotted about the area. The town of Pelakas itself is walkable through the olive groves, and takes about 30 minutes.
The Yaliscari beach itself is a bit disappointing, we spent most of our sunbathing time by either of the two pools, or drove to other beahes.

The resort consists of 1 hotel, 2 mini markets and 1 bar and one taverna. Plus 2 beachside tavernas for lunch. Great laid back beach.

The Yaliscari beach we were not impressed with preferring to walk to Pelekas village and pick up the free bus down to the the Pelekas beach - clean, picturesque, and the sea, never seen such clear water in any holiday destination we have visited before absolutely beautiful.
The walk is not for the faint hearted but if you are fit and enjoy a stroll then you certainly won't mind having to do this it's all worth it once you are on the beach. Along the beach is various tavernas where you can get the local "Frappe" - lovely iced coffee to quench your thirst - or indeed have a snack in the mid-day sun

Great value for money, would go back, very relaxing, hot holiday.

The resort is in a beautiful setting on the west coast and surrounded by pine trees and olive groves the whole area is very clean and the views and tree lined walks are excellent.
There are tavernas and mini-markets at the top of the hill about a hundred metres away, cars and motorcycles are easily hired if you want to go sight seeing.
Good entertainment can be found at both the hotel and the tavernas on most nights.
The beach is down a very steep hill and use of the free mini bus is recommended, the beach itself is set in a small cove and is part sand part shingle and slopes gently into a typically clean and clear med.
Sun beds are not free on the beach and you will find it costs you around 8 euros for a couple per day.
There is also a very nice small taverna if you need food or drinks.
We would definately return to this resort for a quiet and very relaxing get away from it all holiday.

There was not much to do in this resort, we knew it was going to be quite but this was isolted! Ther were two bars and one shop,no spending the day looking round the shops and spending! it took half an hour at the most.
There was very very steep hill down to the beach, not suitable for the unfit, children or old people, although the beach was very clean.
