This is the second occasion we have stayed at the Elizabeth and are already planning to go again next year. The apartments are basic but having travelled around Greece it is the norm. The complex is family run and they all make you feel so welcome. Costa kept the bar open for us until 6am one night!!!
Dimitri is the cook and is great. His Sunday lunch is better than some I have had in England!!!! The complex has the best pool in Roda and there is never a shortage of sunbeds.
If you are looking for simple accommodation in a setting that is beatiful run by people who make you feel like one of the family then the Elizabeth is the place for you. The majority of the guests at the Elizabeth are repeat visitors so they must be doing something right!!!
We cannot wait to go again next year.

Kitchen grubby with dead flies & cobwebs around the windows. Kettle broken. Under no circumstances put your towels on the bathroom floor - the notice said, consequently my son fell over twice. Dark, damp bedrooms and no seating area. Beds smelled damp & musty.
Staff no particularly interested in rectifying problems and as one of us is asthamtic we had to move into a hotel because First Choice could'nt find us alternative accommodation.
Beautiful gardens and lovely clean pool but the rooms let this place down.

We've stayed at these apartments several times. On each occasion it has been brilliant.
The apartments are basic(typically Greek) but very clean and have everything you need.
This is a small complex compared to other places, so it's more personal. Everybody gets to know each other and people visit again and again so you see some familiar faces year after year.
Food is served all day at the bar starting early(about 8am). They do a wicked full English breakfast which sets you up for the day.All the meals and snacks are reasonably priced.
Drinks are served from about 8am right through until the last person goes to bed(which is quite often getting on for 4 or 5 in the morning). The bar has a great range of ice creams and milkshakes for the kids (and the big kids).
The apartments are only about a 2 min walk from a couple of well stocked mini marts. 3 min walk from the sea and the beach (which you have a view of from some of the apartments). 4/5 min walk to the village centre and all the 'night life'.
The apartments are set in their own beautiful grounds which are kept very clean and tidy.
The pool is great (never stayed anywhere with a pool as clean). There is a section of the pool for toddlers which is well sectioned off from the deeper water. Also there is a Jacuzzi pool as well. There are more than enough sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool area.
The bar at the apartments is called The Kukkaburra. It's a lovely bar. Unlike your usual small and simple bar you find in apartments, it is large and welcoming place. There are plenty of tables and comfy chairs all overlooking the pool (so you can sit and have a drink but are still able to see the kids in the pool).
The apartments are family owned and run. The mother does all the cleaning of the apartments and the father keeps the grounds clean and tidy. Costa (their son) is in charge of the bar, he makes you very welcome and keeps the drinks flowing, helped by Nikos the barman. Helen (their daughter) is The Hostess with the mostess taking orders for food etc. Helen's husband Dimitri is the cook (and wow what a cook). Nothing is too much trouble for the family, they will do their utmost to help you with anything you need.
The last time we stayed here was 2004 when Athens hosted the Olympics. Helen and her 2 daughters Zoe and Elizabeth hosted ''The Elizabeth Olympics''which started off for the children but of course the 'Grown Ups'wouldn't be left out. It was great fun and every one got involved the kids even won medals.
Every week there is Greek night. There are professional Greek dancers to entertain you while you eat your gorgeous barbecue. Everybody gets up and joins in with the Greek dancing it's great fun for all the family. Then later when the dancers have gone, Costa, Dimitri, Nikos and the family get everyone up dancing again. It turns into a real party night. Also Helen hosts a fun quiz night and a Karaoke night.
I have already been to these apartments several times before and I would definitely visit The Elizabeth again.
Every time we go,there are loads of people who were there on previous years. People just keep going back because the place is so good and you are treated like one of the family.

We visited the Elizabeth Apartments in July 2003, during the summer heat wave! It was a cancellation and only cost us a fraction of the price! The cleaners came a little early sometimes, esp with it being self catering and you were in the middle of your breakfast!
The main cleaner was the mother of one of the owners and she was typical greek, but very nice. The apartments were kept clean and tidy although the bathroom was ver slippy when wet! It was situated about 5 mins walk from the main centre and beach and the views were fab.
The gardens were lovely and i've never seen such a clean pool!!
The staff were excellant, Helen is Australian and i cant remember what her brother was called - 2 years ago!! but they are so nice and we gave them a huge hug when we left.
The pool guy, Nikkos i think, is a right flirt but lovely, he'll talk to anyone and is always serving drinks and joining in with jokes etc. The cook - arghh forgotten his name too!! is excellant, the best fry up ive ever had!
whilst we were there his father past away and he went off to visit family, and its only then that we realsied what such a great cook he was as they could not cook half as good!!
The entertainment at night time was great, typical english with quizes, bingo, sing a longs, and greek nights as well as a bbq night. We loved it and we'd deff go back!
