My husband, daughter and I arrived at Spiros No 1, Bungalow 19. When i entered, I sat on the manky bed and cried. The room was gloomy and hot but worst of all DIRTY. I always self cater but found i couldn't bring myself to use the cooker or utensils. My husband and i dragged the mattress from 1 of the upstairs beds to swap with the downstairs bed as it was disgusting and i wouldn't have let me dog sleep on it. There was a damp smell that would not go away in the downstairs rooms and we had a family of lizards living with us. The quilt type coverings on the bed were filthy.
On the up side - the staff were great, friendly and very hardworking, Spiros is a character and the food was super. This holiday would have been great had our accomodation been clean and had aircon (which i always budget for. We spent as little time as possible in the accomodation, so it's jsut as well that Roda town is good, otherwise i would have wasted my hard earned cash on this holiday.

spiros no 1 apartments are perfect for a very relaxing family holiday. the aprtments are kept clean and do have to recommend the bungalows from no 13-19
as they are sapcious with bedroom upstairs and down along with an equipped kitchen and shower room. the balcony is perfect for reading that all important book plenty of sunbeds, the pool is fantastic quite deep perfect for diving along with a kids pool. spiros is proud of his pool as he is of his flowers.
we had a fantastic pool party greek nights are a must the food fab at all times and cannot be faulted. spiros sons philip and thomas ar welcoming/helpful and nothing is a problem to them.
the beach in roda is perfect and a new watersports centre is on the beach with the usual bananas/boat hire etc.I would recommend that families take hire car whilst in roda it makes the holiday all the more sepcial getting out and about seeing the rest of the island.aqualand is a must, do not buy tickets from reps got to nsk on main road they will get you best price. happy holidays !

We stayed in the Maisonettes (No.19) for one week in mid July and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
The maisonettes are nice, plenty of room. Downstairs there were two single beds, the small kitchen area (just enough equipment for self-catering although a toaster would have been a bonus) and a shower room. Up the metal staircase to find a double bed, and another shower room. My only gripe is that there was only one very small window upstairs which didn

We stayed at Spiros No1 in May, July and September 2005. On every occasion you were made to feel welcome by Spiros and his sons. We stayed in three different apartments and each one was just as clean and tidy as each other.
Food was always available from as early as 7am to 11pm at night. The food is home made and fantastic. Every Friday night they do Greek night and it was worth every single Euro.
The location of the apartments is great, it is a five minute walk from the main strip (and I mean that, especially as we were tottering in high heels every night).
The swimming pool is very clean and some mornings on the way back from the clubs you can watch Spiros cleaning it out. The apartments are run by Spiros and his family and they all speak very good English. An ideal place to stay if you are in a couple or with the family.
I loved it so much I stayed there 3 times last year and am going back there again twice this year.

This was my first ever Self Catering Holiday and I was extremely impressed with the small complex. Spiros and his sons go out of their way to make you feel at home and 'Mrs'Spiros is always pleased to welcome you into her kitchen to let you watch her cook.
The food was excellent, a very wide variety and very well presented. I could not fault the food. There was an English maid who came to clean my room every two to three days and she was very thorough. The room was spacious with a nice large balcony. Everything you could possibly need to prepare basic meals was provided for in the kitchenette. The apartments are located in very beautiful landscaped surroundings and are very peaceful
There is a large pool which is kept spotlessly clean by Spiros. Spiros was always busy cleaning the pool, or scrubbing the Terrace or serving in the Bar. He is clearly very proud of his establishment and so he should be. Its a perfect base in which to explore Roda which is just a short stroll away along a country lane and over a little bridge.
There was Entertainment provided, although not every night. Mainly Greek Muscians and Greek Dancing, and very good. The Bar is small but clean and bright and airy with a TV.
The ONLY problem I had was with the Mosquitoes. I found I had to keep the balcony doors closed for most of the time. I was badly bitten one evening and woke up with bites all over my face. I was very ill, but Spiros arranged for a Doctor to attend and she was with me within the hour. I was very impressed with the prompt attention I received and for the concern and care shown by 'Mrs' Spiros.
I would definately go back to the Spiros Apartments.
