We stayed at the Zafiris Apartments just a week away from it's closing date of 29/10/04. There were only a few people left, so we all had the place to ourselves.

The hotel was better than most in the area and had a feel about it as we were all one family, that also means staff included.

The weather was about 26c by day and 17c by evening, turning cold in the early hours.

The Zafiris is in a quite area about 10 minutes walk from the main beach resort area, with bars and restaurants that would put any such places back in the UK to shame. However there was always one snack bar or restaurant that looked naff.

The resort beach was the worse I had seen in many years of travel, full of rubbish and smelt bad too. The hotel beach was great and was of a small cove. You would have to keep your eyes on small active children as the sand cliff edge is close by and falling away into the sea day by day, if you can keep the kids in the hotel they would be safe.

The pool is great and large. Health and saftey is of a high a standard here in the hotel ground.

Out and about there is loads to do, both adults and kids would have a great time here.

As all the other people state in their reviews of this hotel I would back 100 percent and by far the best, what makes this hotel stand out is it's gardens and greens are of a high standard with a childrens park which would keep the kids happy.

Just one more thing, remember your in a different country and if you look for problems you would always find something to complain about.

Would go back to this hotel again in the future, if only Sadari would sort out their main beach and clean it up.

I see this hotel has already got lots of amazing reviews. I agree it is a fantastic hotel and one of the best in Sidari.

Stayed there for a week with my six year old and we absolutely loved it.

The cleaning lady was fantastic, and all the staff and the owner were lovely.

We stayed at the Zafiris Apartments after a last minute booking approx 1 week prior to departure. Having read the previous reviews, we were hopeful that the place would at least be reasonable.

We were more than impressed with what we found on our arrival. Following an hour long coach transfer from the airport, we were met by Angela from reception at the drop-off by the Saxophone bar. This bar is part of the complex and on the main road. There is a walk of approx 100 yds up the driveway into the complex where our apartment was situated. This is a little steep but not tiring.

Angela showed us to our apartment and explained the various features etc, she is lovely and speaks very good English, as does all the staff. The apartments are very clean & tidy with a separate kitchen/diner, bathroom & twin bedroom.

The pool area and adjacent pool bar are spotlessly clean. My thanks to Yiannis (barman & Buddy Holly look-a-like and no mean swimmer!!), Spiros (1), Spiros (2) & George for continually trawling the poolside and sunbed area with offers of drinks/food. These guys made a supreme effort to learn our names on day one and remembered them all week, nothing was too much trouble. Don't feel embarrassed about chatting with them when they come over, they all have a very good sense of humour and appreciate a little genuine interaction.

The Waterfall restaurant beyond the poolbar produces some excellent food, I recommend the grilled Octopus & Saganaki! They have a broad ranging Menu from traditional Greek to International.

Mosquitoes are about, especially at dusk & during the night. We recommend that you take a tin of "Raid" or similar with you as well as a plug in style repellant and hose the room down inside before you go out in the evening, rub on repellant around ankles as well, esp. if sitting in taverna in evenings.

We would strongly recommend this complex, a return visit is on the cards.

This is the second time we have been this year. We went 21 May-5 June and also sept 14th.

The rooms are very clean. Have everything you need-microwave toaster, 2 rings, hairdryer, telly, fridge-freezer. Maids are daily and very friendly.

Pool always very clean.

Where do I start with the staff. The best ever. Constantly stopping to chat to us. Always got time. You do not have to leave your sunbed all day if you do not want to as you are waited on hand & foot. It was 16 weeks since we last went and they all knew our names still. We feel like family and me and Emma cried when we came home both times.

When we left to come home Spiros-(George Michael),George( who I wanted to bring home),Spiro(nice bum),Nikki(great little boy called Jason who he bought to work to show us), Angelique, Castas(great couple who seem to be in charge
Yannis, Yanni (good for water fights)dimitris-(lovely long hair), Dimitris-nice bum number 2, all waved us off at 2.00 in the morning. What a send off to remember having about 12 people standing in a crowd smiling and waving.

Fantastic

The Zafiris is probably too good to be true until you have been there to see for yourself! Cleanliness of the highest standard, food at the pool or in the Waterfalls restaurant are both excellent - the only problem we found was that we couldn't manage to eat it all! The location is the best in Sidari with the apartments and pool being off the road and set on an incline leading up to the cliff overlooking the sea. The hotel staff are the best I've ever come across, Spiros (George Michael look a like!) and George were our favourites but also Yannis, Nicos and Nik and not forgetting the other Spiros who never seemed to stop working. Only the fact that next year I have a big party to pay for stops me booking today for next year and I only came back yesterday!

The appartments were clean, spacious and bright, the staff were happy to do anything you asked and got to know you on a first name basis. A great place for famlies. The pool are was great and by far the best in sidari. The snack bar was fantastic, serving whatever you asked for all day/evening.

We stayed for 2 weeks in the Zafiris Apartments and it was excellent. The apartment we stayed in was on 2 levels which was just great as it meant there was plenty of room for all 4 of us. The maids came everyday and kept the apartment spotless. The view from our balcony was to the pool and also the sea, which could have meant it was noisy, but everyone was very considerate and the pool bar closed at a reasonable time. It is in a beautiful location being on the canal d'amour and away from the main drag of sidari. The staff were all lovely, without exception, Angela the receptionist looked after us very well, as did the 2 Spyros' and Nicky. The saxaphone bar was brilliant as there was a soft play area for the children which is supervised in the evening by Dawn, who is lovely, and meant that the adults could have a little down time in the evening. Because we booked with 1st choice there was a kids club the children went to and this was also excellently run. We loved it and hope to return next year.

We stayed at the Zafiris July/August this year. It was absolutely fabulous! All the staff were great and they couldn't do enough for you. Angela on reception was lovely. Spiros (George Michael) and Spiros were great! They looked after us all day around the pool area and it was the same in the evenings. Spiros (George Miachael) looked after us at the Waterfall Restaurant - the food was the best in the resort! Also the food around the pool area is very good. Whilst Spiros (the other good looking one!) brought us drinks all evening in the Saxaphone bar! The Saxaphone bar is really good for the kids as well as the parents!
The apartments were clean, spacious and the bed linen and towels were change most days.
The location 'in my opinion' is the best in the area. We have already booked to return July next year!

We stayed at the Zafiris in June 2004 and were not disapointed at all. We are seriously considering going back next year. The staff really do make the holiday, the bar staff at the pool are fantastic especially Spiros, Nik, and the other Spiros (who we nicknamed George after George Michael). The pool area is fantastic and up by the restauraunt there is access to a small beach which allows you access to the Canal D'Amour. We swam through the cave and round the point back to the beach it was Beutiful. The Saxaphone bar is probably one of the nicest looking bars in Sidari and it is great for the kids there. There is adventure soft play area which is supervised a pool table and a full size snooker table. Nik the DJ plays some good tunes and the bar staff are really nice and friendly.
