We arrived back from a weeks holiday yesterday and are we glad to be back YES!!!!! right lets start with the good points...

The hotel was very clean and the rooms are pretty big but the beds are really noisy.

The pool was lovely our 6 year old had a great time in it. The views across to the Albanian mountains were fantastic.

Now the bad points....

the staff were really unfriendly don't turn your head away for 1 minute as your plate will be swiped from the table they don't give you chance to finish your meal. The food was boring it all looked nice but all tasted the same and we lived on pork and chips for the whole week. The kids menu was poor the same thing every night the fish fingers and nuggets were over fried and solid. Breakfast wasn't too bad though. The all inclusive drinks were very limited we didn't mind using the plastic cups round the pool as its for safety reasons.

The beach was about a 4 minute walk and you have to cross a road to get to it something First Choice fail to tell you in the brochure. The beach itself wasn't great there was a lot of cigarette ends and bits of rubbish lying about the sea though was lovely and clear, it was also abit annoying that if you needed a drink or the loo you had to drag all your things back to the hotel to have one.
We went a walk round the nature reserve one day and the place was littered with rubbish it was filthy.

Now then the entertainment or lack of it...

There was nothing in the day for the kids to do apart from kids club which our 6 year old refused to go to. The evenings were BORING they have nothing at all to do apart from BINGO which ended up costing a fortune. There was 3 Germans entertaining and they did do there best so hats off to them.

The airport was a nightmare I had read reports about it but wasn't expecting it to be quite as bad as it was.

Would I go back?? NO!!!! The island is a lovely place with great views but the hotel was not up to the standard of a 4 star.

This was our second visit to Blue Bay. We went last year and absolutely loved it. This year we were very disappointed. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed out holiday, but it has really gone downhill since last year.

The main reason for this is very simple - it's not exclusively First Choice anymore. They have opened up the allocation to Tui which we think is the German version of Thomson holidays. I know that sounds a bit racist and pompous - but it's had such a negative affect on the entertainment, reps and food. Last year the First Choice reps were superb. They were always around the complex playing with the kids and getting everyone involved, and the evening entertainment was great for the kids. This year, half of the reps were German/Austrian, and they weren't half as committed and nice to the kids. One German rep, set challenges for the kids which sent my 7 year old down to the beach for a pebble - that's outside the complex along a busyish road!! If my husband hadn't seen him going out of the gate, goodness knows what might have happened. That just wouldn't have happened last year.

The hotel itself is very clean, although we did seem to have a problem with ants in our room this year. Also, I was eaten alive by mossies this year, so please prepare yourself with lots of repellent. My husband and little boy didn't get bit once though - so maybe I've just got tasty blood!

The location is in the middle of nowhere, but as it's all inclusive, we weren't planning on straying far anyway. We took a couple of trips into Kassiopi using the free hotel bus, and this was lovely. Acharaavi is a waste of time though.

Entertainment was naff this year. Most of the week, the Germans did the 'shows'. There was the kids disco and bingo, but a bit boring every night.

All in all, we did have a good week, but we won't be going back. It's a shame, because it really had potential before the allocation was split.

This the the 2nd year we traveled to the Blue Bay, and probably the last.

The Hotel is great, the views are fantastic and the rooms are clean and spacious. The kids club and reps where fab our kids loved going to that and the First Choice mini disco.

The food got a bit boring and repetitive, the drinks where appaling, the Fanta Orange was that weak it was clear, and the sprite was bad tasing soda for at least 4 days before any thing was done about it.

The entertainment was non exsistant, and in a remote resort there is nothing else to do in the evening's, we ended up spending a great deal off time at Molos and Valentinos and spent what we would off done self catering!!!

One last note book your trips at Tanya Travel, they are the same trips as first choice but a lot cheaper.

The hotel was beautiful, the views where great.

Very limited on alcohol drinks if all-inclusive beer ouzo brandy and not much more.

When spending any of your euros be prepared to be ripped off could'nt believe what they charge for things over there.

Lots of English in the hotel which was good usually lots of Germans about. I think when we went the season was just starting it was early May not many staff on and rushed off their feet.

Basically and we had a mini heatwave that fortnight. There is a table reserved just as you walk through the double glass doors on your right for the owners of the hotel a little information for you.

There are some cats which keep the children entertained and adults. The childrens reps were brilliant very helpful and nothing too much trouble!

The hotel is fantastic and very clean, the reception is very impressive with a very nice seating area. Our room was much bigger than expected with a large sitting area, a small kitchen (with full sized fridge).

The bedroom was a really good size with lots of storage space. No plug for bath, just a hand held shower. Tended just to have hot water morning and tea time.

A very nice balcony with fantastic views out to sea and the mountains of Albania. The dining area is bright and spacious and has 2 self service areas. The food was good with plenty of choice for kids and adults - we never went hungry. A bit of a job getting drinks during evening meal but the waiters do seem very busy.

The pool-side bar again is busy could imagine it would be bit of nightmare during high season. All-inclusive was good for us and we got good value once kids realised they could have snacks during the day from the pool bar.
The layout is very nice and the buildings are well presented, the gardens are lovely and the "singing plants" are a nice touch.

We had a late checkout room till 8pm, picked up at 10.40pm and kept our blue bands till we left.

The only downside for us was the wasps and mossies. The wasps were a pain if you were eating at the pool bar during the day, luckily we weren't stung and you did get used to them buzzing round you - best not to take any food or drink back to your loungers. We had bit of rain which didn't help with the mossies, kids and hubby not touched but i was bit quite a few times despite using plenty of repellent. The good points still far outweigh the flying pests and wouldn't stop us going back.

The entertainment was great, we went with 2 boys (7 & 4) and they "had a ball". The kids reps were fantastic and the clubs were great, they also had volleyball, rounders etc going on during the day. Mini-disco at night and the reps worked hard keeping it all going and to be honest by the time the disco and the bingo was finished we were all shattered and ready for bed.

Read negatives about the entertainment but we felt for the kids it was "spot-on". (Happy kids - happy us). Not for adults but it is advertised as a family holiday.

We travelled to the Blue Bay Escape on an All Inclusive package with First Choice (I wouldn't recommend staying self catering at this hotel).

The Hotel its self was very nice and always very clean.

The Food was good although a wasn't very impressed with the Breakfasts (I do like a good fry up in the morning), what I would say is try and eat you meals towards the end of the sitting as the dinning room is much quieter.

The Hotel is very isolated so don't expect loads of crowded bars and clubs but it perfect for a bit of R & R.

The staff where very friendly and the entertainers did their best to keep everyone happy.

The one downside to this Hotel is the wasps that gather around the bar & pool area, one tip I can offer is try to get a sun lounger as far away from the bar as possible.

Despite this small inconvenience I would definitely visit this hotel again. Corfu is a beautiful island and the Blue Bay Escape is an ideal place to explore it from.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very spacious.

The food was very nice although sometimes it was lukewarm.

Most of the staff were very nice and friendly.

The First Choice reps were very helpful and great with the kids.

The hotel is remote as advertised, but we hired a car and went on a couple of excursions which were great.

The entertainment was great for the kids but a bit boring for the adults.

This is defiantly a family hotel my daughter had a great time and made load of friends. The wasps were not too bad and did not bother us, did get a couple of mosquito bites though!!!!!!!!

Beware of the pool - it's freezing!!!!!!!

We arrived at 9.30pm and were met at reception by a pleasant girl who checked us in as quickly as possible and rang ahead to the kitchen to keep it open an extra five minutes so we could eat. A good friendly start but sadly thats were it ended.
After food we checked in to our room and ventured down to the pool side for the night time entertainment. The entertainment was fine and my son Ben had a great time joining in with Alexia,Sam and my favourite the very talented Kelly.I'm biased because she is a Durham Girl.

The bar staff are rude and slow to serve you and on several occasions people were getting irate. And those plastic cups are a waste of time. Dawn And myself took two plastic pots down to the poolside but were told we could not use them and had to use the cups. Pathetic.

I must admit the rooms were immaculate and food was very good.

On the location side you are quite restricted and with pool and Playstations the only releif from the sun and pool we soon got bored during the day.

I am sorry but after really looking forward to the Blue Bay Escape I was totally Disappointed and doubt I would return

This is really a love it or hate it place!!

My lasting memory will be WASPS!! I found them absolutely awful, it got to the point that we wouldn't have drinks near us as we would be set upon by at least three or four wasps immediately. They were even in the main restaurant (though not as many admittedly). My youngest got stung, and my husband.

Other things on the down side were insufficient crockery and cutlery in the room. There were only plastic cups which had, what looked like, rust stains in. I took a glass back to our room and the maid took it away the next day!

The food was ok, it was nice to try some different meals, but all seemed to taste of nutmeg which wore a bit thin in the end!

The views were absolutely stunning, we could see Albania across the sea and the sunsets were beautiful.

The kids club reps worked very hard and my youngest particulary took a shine to "Loopi Linzi" who ran the creche.

All in all, was disappointed with this holiday, I don't feel it was good value for money and the wasps and mosquitoes really were a pain. Glad we were only there a week!!

Just back from our 2nd visit to the Blue Bay and we had another fab 2 weeks despite other peoples negatives this holiday suits us down to the ground.

As I've said in previous reports fab location, staff and food we are hoping to go again next year the only thing stopping us from a possible 3rd time in a row is the prices in school hols as next year we have to take them in August.
