The Lato was a block booking and was almost all taken by a (my) family group, who were all there with some other family members not staying at the Lato, that were in Agios Nikolaos for a family wedding. Apart from one or two things that were a bit suspect at first sight, the hotel turned out to be a good choice by the man who did all the organising and planning to get everybody there. The air con has a €35 weekly charge but is absolutely necessary in July. The heat exchanger is on the balcony which isn't ideal as you can't sit out on the balcony if the air con is on in the room. You can't have the balcony door open with the air con on either because as quickly as the cool air is escaping, the hot air is coming in. The lockable fridge, €7 p/w, in the room could've been a bit cooler. The breakfasts were typically continental and acceptable, though the orange juice was a joke, I'm sorry to say. The breakfast kitchen area became the bar kitchen from approx 1100, where the bar snacks were cooked. The bar itself was reasonably well supplied, a "help yourself" fridge just by it in the shade of a tree, and a draught Amstel pump nearby. The bar was run by a couple of Brit ladies who just about coped, though they would put a notice up "very busy, try again in ten minutes" sign at lunch times if things did indeed get busy. Late evenings, the night porter would double up as barman and you'd end up helping yourself to your room keys when you came in late. The pool wasn't that big but it was cleaned everyday and it was a decent temperature. It was also quiet, no noisy night clubs around, and traffic noise wasn't too noisy. The sunbeds were plentiful but some were in need of a spruce up. On the whole though, it would probably suit anyone who found themselves staying there. It could do with maybe being a bit closer to the town, which was about 15 mins walk away

A reasonable 2 star hotel set quite a distance from the town centre. Part of the walk to town is single file only, along a poorly lit uneven footpath.
The view from the back rooms is uninspiring: looking out over a piece of waste ground and we were aware of nearby dogs barking/howling for most of the day.
On the plus side the hotel is clean, rooms are well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, TV, safe, fridge & AC.
Breakfast is adequate but lacks variation.
The female members of staff are cheerful and friendly.
There are a lot of steps/stairs especially if you're on the top floor and the hotel really needs a lift for guests with luggage.
A good hotel for adults, and it does attract many repeat visitors which can give a 'clubby' atmosphere.

The linen was changed in our room each day.

The staff were brilliant to the point of us being spoilt, in particular a mention of our night porter Yanis who made our late night sessions great.

For those who remember the Latonians, will know what I am talking about. Basically the hotel guests staying at the Lato during our fortnight had been regular visitors for many years had had created a friendship which we would certainly recreate again.

The Beach may be small but all the views and the friendliness was great.

Taking part in the hotel entertainment is all part of this holiday.

The Lato Hotel is a small, clean and friendly hotel. The breakfast is continental but plenty of it. Jeanette cooks great lunchtime snacks for a very reasonable price. Plenty of choice also.

The hotel is on the main road within a five minute walk to the nearest beach. The hotel staff are all very friendly and do their best to accommodate your needs. Nothing is too much trouble.

Jeanette returns at night to work the bar. Her music choice is great entertainment, especially when there are about 26 people from all over the U.K. who have been meeting up this 2 weeks for at least 6 years. So there is something special about this hotel.
