Please don't visit the Ederi hotel.
All inclusive that was a laugh, a 2litre bottle of ouzo, 2litre bottle of brandy sat on the bar, help yourself, when it was finished that was it. Sorry there was also beer and wine.
Food wasn't too bad.
Staff were very unfriendly and rude.
Entertainment was zero, loud booming music all day long, the staffs choice. When asked to play some Greek music I was informed they had none.
We have been to many all inclusive holidays, mostly Spain, we were not expecting Greece to be in the same class, but were very, very, disappointed. Thankfully we got involved with some lovely company and made the most of our holiday
This holiday has put me off ever visiting Greece again,[this was our 4th visit to Crete] so please please stay away from the Ederi

What do people expect for the good value for money hotel ? We found the food to be fairly good it was all Greek food and there was a good variety from salads and cold meats to hot meals.
I love beer ouzo and wine, and plenty of soft drinks for the kids tea coffee and chocolate also available. If I had paid

Hotel was overbooked by the owner, All inclusive holiday was a joke. description of hotel was nothing like the actual place.situated on a fairly busy road on the outskirts of Gouves,a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach.
Food was nearly always luke warm and therefore inedible.Drinks at the poolbar were a joke unless you wanted to pay for them.No snackbar although a menu was found behind poolbar. Pool is small but deep, no good if you have young children.
Staff were really helpful.
There was an attempt at a BBQ, 3 other hotels were invited, it was a total disaster.that was the only entertainment that happened during our stay.
Avoid this hotel if you are not prepared to wait 5-10 minutes to cross the road and another 10-15 minutes walk to the beach.

This Hotel was clean and basic. No shower curtain and small bath, but it is Greece so would have accepted this.
We came on an all inclusive holiday with our children and their grandad, and it was near enough a self catering hotel.
The drinks apart from beer wine and ouzo had to be paid for. Coffee machine was broke most of holiday at pool bar.
The snack bar was none existant. No food catering for children. We watched a lady taste a piece of broccoli and put it back for someonelse to eat. Someone put a plate on the floor for the cats to eat off, I must say the manager ran out and told her off.
The main road outside is really dangerous, and we were told someone from Ederi was knocked over at the begining of the season, don't know how true this is.

The all inclusive was a joke if you don't drink Ouzo or beer you had to pay for the drinks. 4 euros for a Bacardi.
The meals were very basic, no snacks at all through the day.
There was no entertainment at all in the evenings, out of the 7 nights we stayed we only got 2 hot showers in the evening.

The only alcoholic drinks on the all inclusive list was a serve yourself beer, ouzo and a weak brandy everything else alcoholic you paid for.
Hotel descriptions by travel companies absolutely and totally misleading. No childrens pool, no landscaped garden. No childrens play area.
Loud boom boom music being played by bar staff from ten in the morning until two or three the next morning.
not one bedroom had a shower that was working properly.
Food lukewarm.running out of food half an hour before end of mealtimes.running out of red and white wines on alternate evenings.
My wife had to shoe the bar staff how to clean their coffe and tea making machine.
Lipstick forever on cups and glasses. Mildewed bread being served at meal times.....the list is endless.

My wife and i stayed in the Ederi Hotel for one week. The staff were excellent.couldn't do enough for me and my wife.
Cleanliness left a bit to be desired.Never saw the maid use the mop.
Location is another matter. If you are young and fit the beach will be no bother walking to.
However on a hot day like the days that we had it is not adviseable for the over fifties, get the bus.Entertainment,none. Not a thing.
Would I visit this Hotel again NO not even for a free holiday and a thousand pounds. This Hotel at this time is not even good enough for bed and breakfast.
