Beware the all inclusive! The one thing I would expect from an all inc in a hot climate is drinkable water - unfortunately they only give you tap water and the bottled water is at an extra cost. The food at meal times is basic and a shame becuase Greek food in general in marvellous. However the snacks are great becuase it is a toastie machine that you can help yourself to as much as you want. Also the all inc finishes at 23.00 however the bar does not close until 1am - encouraging you to pay for drinks that really should be free.
The rooms are indeed basic but you only really sleep in them, I found however that mine was spotlessly clean.
I arrived in the last week in Sept and the animation was being wound down. Day time entertainment consisted daily of a quiz by the pool and a game of water volley ball. Evening entertainment was a game of bingo and a 'disco'.

The only thing they will have to improve is the shower.

Food was excellent. We did not go out much.

Gouves is a very quiet town. At this time of year.

Staff was good. We have personal friends among the staff.

Entertainment is not what we were loking for.

If possible we will visit this hotel again.

The hotel was great. Yes quite basic but very clean and very well run.

The food was lovely and plenty of choice. The worst thing about it was the other fussy hotel guests, moaning on about not being able to get egg and chips, or shepards pie etc.

I would bite back, "listen if you want to eat that stuff dont come to Greece stay in bloody England!"

So, yes I would definitley come back to the Lavris.

I heard some bad reports about this hotel and bungalows, but found it to be quite good, for the amount of money I had paid.

I'll start with the problems. When you arrive at 3am, the receptionist will try to get you to upgrade to the hotel, before you have even seen the bungalow you are in!! at 3 am, all you want to do is go to bed!! just say NO.

The only other problem I can think of is that at times, the bar people are very slow to serve you. They will collect glasses or do other things whilst you are stood waiting at the bar.

Now to the positives. The rooms in the bungalows are basic, but are very clean and very adequate for your holiday.

The staff in general are very friendly. The animator was new, the week we were there, but she soon got into it.Her name is Amandine, but I said she should change it to Frenchy (her being French!!) and she did!! absolute diamond of a girl. (Anybody who goes, give her my best wishes)That is why the entertainment was given 5. It needed working on, but she was getting better, and she deserved a 10!

The food is ok, with always enough choice to get yourself something you like.

All in all, a great holiday, where we met some really nice people. We WILL return.

The hotel was immaculately clean at all times. The pool area was always tidy, glasses collected by bar staff on a very regular basis. The rooms were lovely, with maid service every day.

Food was disappointing - only average and they did not always have anything vegetarian available. As a result we ate out a lot.

The location for us was ideal as it was extremely quiet but a ten minute walk took you to the resort centre, whilst the beach was only five minutes away.

Hotel staff were polite and efficient but could have been a bit friendlier.

The entertainment was at best, poor. Only one member of staff ran the entertainment so it was water polo, darts and table tennis during the day and a quiz in the evening. The people who stayed for two weeks won the quizzes in their second week as they were the same ones from the first week!

Would visit the hotel again but would not go all-inclusive and would expect to eat out all of the time.

Overall I would rate the hotel as three star, not four.
