After a 7hr delay at Gatwick, we arrived at The Serita at 11.45pm. After checking in we were shown to the restaurant where a light snack had been laid on for us.
We were then taken to our room. It was light and airy, air conditioned and had a lovely view of the "quiet pool" and the sea. We were in a bungalow away from the main entertainment which is ideal if you have small children.
The whole hotel is spotless! The smell of paraffin was evident but I was told this was used to keep the mozzies away!
Breakfast the next day was great. So much choice, friendly staff offering tea and coffee and chefs cooking eggs and bacon, omlettes and pancakes, the latter being a huge hit with my kids!
The food on the whole is great, you won't English food, but why would you when in Greece!! They cater for all really and never run out.
There is a choice of two restaurants, the main in the hotel or the snack one, by the pool. Both are really good, just make sure you book the pool one, 24hrs before.
The Serita Beach is a little out of the way, but just a short walk away, along the beach, there is a village with shops and tavernas. For 7 Euros you can get a taxi into town, which is a great place to shop and eat!
The staff at the hotel were always happy to help, the cleaners were friendly and kept our room immaculate with clean towels everyday, beds made or sheets changed and floors mopped everyday.
In the evenings we didn't even have to go to the bar, we found seats outside and was brought our drinks all night!
Every night the animation team would be on form! We got quite friendly with two of the girls. They all kept us entertained for the 2 week stay and the kids loved them! Especially the mini kids club.
We will be returning to the Serita Beach in 2 yrs time!
