I don't even know how to start as everything about this Hotel is perfect, the staff can't be any better, they are not just smiling because they have to they really go out of there way to make your holiday special. The food...is gorgeous each evening there was every type of salad and cold pasta dish you could wish for, the soup was gorgeous and the main meals consisted of (hot unlike may hotels that serve luke warm foods) a Greek dish, an Italian dish, 2 meat dishes, 1 fish dish, and a couple of choices of English type foods like chicken nuggets, Fish fingers etc. All of that had Veg, pasta, fries and potatoes. There is a BBQ 1 night in the week and once again the quality was of a high standard. Desserts where available each eve and although I never had any my Husband said they where delicious. Well done to the Chefs that Michael employs.
As for the Entertainment the holiday is advertised as having family style entertainment and in my opinion that is what we all got, there was a games eve, quiz night, kareoke (which Michael the manager even has a go at) a films night inc BBQ and an outside entertainment eve for e.g The Mystic Men was on the first week and a group of Greek dancers that where really good and got the croud involved was the second Saturday. What more would a family want?. The area is very safe, we went in to Stalis on a quite a few evenings and never worried about coming home for fear of the area being dark or deserted!! it is 5-10 mins walk to the beach and main beach road and if you go under the underpass, turn left and walk about 100 yards you will see black gates (not the first set) this is the Knossos Hotel, cut through there and its even quicker to the main area of Stalis. It is absolutly fine the area is in a perfect location for familys, couples and even elderley people (there was a number of all types of persons there).
The garden areas of the hotel are beautiful, the pools are cleaned all the time, the maids are lovely and keep the rooms spotlessly clean, the bar area is pleasant and the dining is inside or out and once again could not be kept any cleaner, a lot of hotels have very boring food courts but this is just lovely to sit outside and look over the pool areas with lovely flowers around...well done to staff...loved Vana and Maria what lovely people xx.
The music around the pool area is very good and not loud at all, the eve entertainment is finished by 12.30am and then its just low music and guests chatter and laughter (isn't that what we go away for?)
There is one member of Staff that I would have to praise and that is Diane, she is the hotel receptionist and nothing is too much trouble, I had a few enquiries before arrival and whilst there regarding my Daughter visiting and she was spot on with everything we needed..our Daughter came to stay a night and they accomodated her and her friend and let them have a meal with us in the Eve. I also was surprised that on the last day of our holiday guests that didn't go until the eve where welcomed for a meal at no extra cost...most hotels after check out at midday couldn't care less about you as the next guest is on the way to take your place... not the Anastasia...you are a valued customer and by the time you leave you are not just a guest you are a friend. You can keep your room on for 40 euros inc food until 6pm.
The bus stop is a very short walk and they are really comfortably air conditioned coaches that are every 30mins. We went to Hersonossis a few times it costs 1.40 euros each.
Daytrips we went on where Spinalonga Island with BBQ which I really recomend and Ancient Greece which again was good. We booked these trips through the reps but it can prob be done cheaper elsewhere, we just wanted to make sure the company we booked with didn't just take our money and not turn up as some signs in the town warn you of this.
Well to sum up this hotel I would say it was perfect, and have already booked to go back next year. I have booked a room above the reception near the bar areas and have no worries about being disturbed as the double glazing is fine. Well done Michael and the gang, dont let anything change as the personal touch goes a long way to making this hotel so special, especially the personal send of that you try to give to all your guests, hugs hand shakes and high 5's go a long way xxxx

In Spain, the staff are mainly the product of hotel and tourist training, here in the Anastasia, staff are really warm and friendly people delivering a very high standard of care. They will go out of their way to help you.
We were allocated the same room as last year and there was a complimentary bottle of wine with two glasses, with a wee card saying welcome back. A really nice personal touch, which is the mark of the Anastasia.
There has been a change of personnel since we were last there, and it was most obvious with the food. There was always plenty of choice and I had great pleasure in trying something new almost every night.
The soups were terrific and we had a running joke with other guests as to whether it would be mushroom that night or not. Mushroom soup was a clear favourite.
It would be wrong and indeeed hard to pick out a special member of staff for praise as they all contribute to a great holiday. Just a pity Johan cannot sing (only joking).
This Hotel is rated 3 star, but it out-performs many 4 star hotels we have been to. It is the consumate family run Hotel. The Cretans are renowned for there hospitality and this hotel exemplifies this.
The grounds are beautifully kept and it was really enjoyable just to stroll round them. The Hotel is scrubbed from top to bottom, and daily we watched the cleaners start with the communal areas working towards the accommodation. There are 3 pools, and more than enough sunbeds for all guests. There is a kids club, ably run by Kayleigh. You can eat al- fresco or inside, whichever you prefer.
It is only a short walk to catch a bus in either direction. Although there is a main road close by you do not notice it, and there is a subway to allow you to cross to gain access to the resort itself.
Rooms are spread across several short blocks which is really appealing, you dont have that feeeling of living on top of eadh other that you sometimes get in other hotels. There are no lifts, so if you come to this hotel, contatc them before hand and request a low floor. Diane will tryt her best to fit your needs in.
Would we go back........... already doing our sums, with a view to same time next year.
If you do as we do and research a hotel before visiting. Dont hesitate to book here, you will not be disappointed.

The staff at this hotel are brilliant, all of whom where very helpful and friendly, genuinely friendly so much so that it felt as if you were not a guest but a friend being welcomed into their home.
Diane in reception was exceptional, alsways ready with great advice about the resort and the island. It was as if she was telling someone for the first time, despite the fact that she must repeat herself endlessly throughout the season.
Maria, in the restuarant works like a tornado and tony and manolis in the bar are also great. It is unfair really to single out these people as all the staff are really very good, including the cleaners who kept the whole place spotless.
The Hotel is very well laid out with a main building and several other buildings situated around it. In between are lovely gardens, there are 3 pools and plenty of sunbeds. In fact there are more sunbeds than guests. the drinks are competive;ly prioced as is the food at lunchtime.
It is situated about 15 minutes from the main resort centre of Stalis and about the same to the resort of Malia.
There a bus stops going in each direction within 3 minutes walk of the hotel.
The views we had from our balcony were superb.
The entertainemnt was rather low key, Monday Quiz, Tuesday kareoke, Wednesday Bingo, Thursday Mr and mrs etc, Friday Music Quiz. saturday free, There is a Cretan Dance Night once a fortnight. pretty low key compared to Spain but great fun nonetheless.
