I am shocked by some people's reports. My family and I have being going to these apartments for 10 years and never have we had a bad experience, the owners have always made us very welcome and the food Efi cooks is the best on the island!
They cannot speak English perfectly, but they try very hard with you and they take you in as family. If there have any been any problems it's because 'youngsters' go there because they think it's in Malia when it's in the middle of Stalis and Malia which is the tour operators fault, not the hotel owners, and these people come in drunk and smash the place up and riot waking families up, as it is a FAMILY hotel.
The pool is clean, the rooms are clean, everywhere is clean. All the food is fresh. BEST APARTMENTS IN STALIS. CAN'T BEAT IT!

Me and my family turned up late the flight was delayed, the owner crept out and said you late, I said the flight was delayed he just gave us a dirty look.
The apartments were 3 flights of stairs up it was pitch black. The apartment was filthy, no clean bedding or fresh towels for 2 weeks, there was cockroaches in the cupboards, the bedding that was on was filthy. The owners were out of night trying to clean the pool every night because it was full of green moss
My husband got a beer on our first day it was out of date by over 12mnths, The owner turned the water and lights off at his leisure, the road in front was like a motorway, my children were terrified. You had to cross a field to get to the main area every day and night, the traffic was 24-7 none stop.
If you took any shopping in the owners gave you dirty looks. They never emptied the bins that includes the toilet bins. It was hell. Never again will I go to Greece. It was my sons first holiday abroad now he thinks a holiday abroad is going to be like this. There was no entertainment at all. The staff were horrible.

Well what can I say but what a load of dogs muck. We booked this being told "yes you'r staying in Malia" that couldnt be futher from the truth. We'd been booked into Stalis.
We had friends in Malia we were meeting up with this is why we wanted to be there. There weren't any shops/bars/restaraunts or beach near us, it was a good 20 minutes walk over the main road which is like the M1 at bank holiday rush hour and then we had to walk through a field to save us another 20 minutes. To get to Malia it was a 30 minute walk or a taxi everyday.
We spoke to the Olympic rep(very nice and helpful by the way) who looked into moving us but was unable to, he also said he gets this complaint all the time. Surely they should look into why they get this complaint!!!!
The apartments are not upto much. We had to walk up about 30 steps to get to them and then there is no reception just an old gezza who looks like the old man from karate kid who gave us our room key.
The room was warmer than a sauna everytime you walked in as you couldnt leave a window open as the rooms would get broken into as many did.
Everynight/early morning there were a bunch of chavs and chavttes with mouths like the euro tunnel shouting and playin music when you were trying to sleep at 7am.
Be warned dont buy water from the bar as the old coffin dodger fills up empty bottles with tap water and then charger 1.50 euros. He was also drinking out of bottels of coke/sprite/fanta etc and then servin drinks from the bottles.
He was as slow as a god dame snail to do anything and can only say "yes and thank you" so if your not fluent in greek your up poo creek with no paddle.
Overall I wouldn't have bothered with this holiday if I'd have know what a dump it was but as its not in a brochure or on Olympic website, we paid far too much to stay here and could have paid a bit more for a 5* somewhere in the caribean for 2 weeks.

Me and my family and friends went to Crete.
When we got to the hotel we could have cried it was dirty. The stairs was falling down it had metal rods hanging out of the top of stairs. The sun garden that was where you sun bathe was dirty fall of glass and the side wall was falling down. It was on a main road which took you ages to walk down to get to anything.
The people there were old and very rude. I was ill on my second day and so was one of my children they would give me clean sheets I had to wash them out myself. I was there a week and my room didnt get cleaned or bed linen changed.
You couldnt end there it was horrible. The bottles of water he sold he used to get the bottles out the bin and refill them with tap water.
Its not a place I would ever go to again.

The rooms were very basic and dirty when we arrived we had no electricity.
Glad I went self catering as the food he was cooking had guests complaining as it tasted disgusting.
10 minute walk from the nearest shop which in 45 degree heat seems like an hour. On a very dangerous main road, not good for children. A taxi to either the Stalis or Malia centres around 7 euros.
The staff were not friendly they threatened us. They threatened the rep with a kitchen carving knife, the rep was not allowed back for his safety.
He turned off the electricity and water when it suited him. He also shouted words that we'd rather not hear off a 70 year old man in Greek.
