we were staying in the yiannis apartments, but had access to the hotel pericles, which is were we experienced homophobic and racist treatment from the manager which resulted in the manager baring us form the hotel with out any explanation, we wrote to thomas cook about the treatment we recieved upon our return but the response from them was extremely poor and very un professional. we would never use thomas cook again neither we would we ever visit greece again

We stayed at The Yannis Appartments, adjacent to the Pericles. The staff and hotel owner were very accomodating to the Yannis guests as Yannis did not have the facilities.

We visited the Pericles on numerous occassions, for Food, information and the necessary drinks. The Pericles is situated at a nice distance away from the town. The food is value for money.

The Pericles is a quiet hotel, sutable for people who do not want the sounds of children. I think that the road is a problem should there be children in the party.

I would stay at this hotel instead of Yannis anyday.

The hotel is good, simple and clean, only really let down by the very poor breakfasts of cheapest cornflakes, warm milk, dried out sesame bread for toast(real bread was available at evening dinner and any left over was at breakfast but you had to be early). Unless the toaster was on fastest speed it nearly always burnt. The jam in packets was the cheapest available, never been near any real fruit. The orange juice wasn't orange juice it was orange drink. Cold hard boiled eggs kept on coming out day after day and how many days had they been there? Can't have been that fresh. Yoghurt with honey was spot the honey on some days. Breakfast at this hotel need an urgent overhaul, too much cost cutting.
The evening meals were ok, good value and simple fayre, buffet style so you could eat what you wanted.
Snacks at the pool were on the expensive side and the man behind the pool bar was rude early on in our holiday so we did not eat there after that and with our party of six, the hotel as result lost a lot of buiness.
The room are basic, clean and the air con worked a treat. Towel were changed very regularly, too regularly really - bad for the environment. Rooms could do with a fridge for cold water.
The location out of Sami was ideal for us and the walk into town at lunchtime or at night was good exercise and no trouble. The early morning traffic on the road at the front can be a bit loud.

Went on holiday with my family. Enjoyed the stay and loved the surroundings. Hotel was basic but very nice and extremely clean. Nobody can fault the maid service as they cleaned everyday and to the same excellent standard. Hotel staff were very friendly and happy to help and answer any questions. The pool was very nice and plenty of space. Although the hotel entertainment was not brilliant it added to the appeal of the area. It is such a nice place and the hotel is just fantastic. Such a relaxing holiday and enjoyed every minute of it. I would definatley go back.

We stayed at the Pericles Hotel in July this year. The hotel is wonderful and so are the staff, all of them very friendly. This was not our first visit to the hotel, each time we return we are greeted like old friends. Stelios the manager does not speak a lot of English but does try, which is more than can be said for some of us brits who don

This has been the 6th year on the trot that we have been to kefalonia, we normally go to Loudas but decided to try Sami this year. We stayed at the Yiannis studios which was 100 mtrs away from the Pericles Hotel of which we could use the facilities. The the hotel was spotless and as for the restaurant we only used it a couple of times in the evening and found the food was excellent as it was 10e per head.
The hotel is about 10/15 mins walk to the town, take a torch and watch the traffic at night.
The staff were great, Spiros behind the bar such a nice man and the manager Stellios even bought us a drink.
We will be back next year.

Hotel is in a great location but care must be taken when walking down the pavementless path into Sami.

Rooms very basic but comfy.

Last two nights provided an evening meal buffet at 10 euros a head for eat as much as you like 4 courses, excellent value for money.

Limited entertainment was good.

Beware we (unknown to us) had insecure locks on windows and consequently were burgled along with a couple above us while we slept - scary and will be taken further. Staff and rep not helpful at all, wouldnt even let us have drink of water!

No air-con until July 1st inspite of 40 plus degrees heat - manager relented in the end due to pressure and switched it on towards end of second week for limited hours each day.

Lovely pool - although catering at pool snack bar leaves a lot to be desired.

Breakfast was good, buffet style, toast, bread, jam, cake, ham, cheese, yoghurt with honey cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, orange juice, tea and coffee.

Nina (South African receptionist) is great. I guess it would be a good place but be prepared to feel isolated if anything should go wrong.
