This hotel is in a beautiful location just outside the small village of Skala. Rooms are either B&B or selfcatering. We opted for an apartment which had amazing views towards the sea. Cleaners are aroudn 6 days per week and do an excellent job.
There is a steep slope leading into the hotel, therefore anyone with walking difficulties would find this a struggle.... as did many of the fitist!
The hotel is a small and friendly unit, with all the staff taking the time to get to know all their guests on first name terms. Angela, the owner, resides on the premises and is at the hotel throughout the day and evening, ensuring everyone is having a good time.
Breakfast is available for all, including a cooked english for an extra fee. Lunches are very good, with the Greek omelete being our favourite.
There is a weekly quiz and barbecue and most evenings can be finished off with new found friends gathered around the bar with Michael, the friendly barman, whose cocktails are to die for!
Skala is approximately a fifteen minute walk along the seafront. Here you will find many restaurants, all of very high standard. You can catch a horse and cart back to the hotel if the legs are too tired at the end of the day. Skala is, in our opinion, the most beautiful resort on Kefalonia.
Nightlife is limited to a few bars, so this area is not suitable to the young who wish to go clubbing. Couples and families will find it extremely relaxing.
We highly recommend this hotel and will be returning.
