Superbly furnished accommodation, kept spotlessly clean, along with grounds and pool.
Food provided in the evening only from this year I believe: while you may miss the atmosphere?? of eating in the resort our meals were of excellent quality not bettered in Skala. Try it please!
Hotel is a long-looking 4 km outside Skala, and a car is a necessity; there is no courtesy bus, and a taxi back from Skala may not be "on demand".
Overall it seemed a better bet for families than for couples; though relatively small, the facility catered well for children.
Kefalonia is a very beautiful island, and must get many repeat visitors.

The Asteris is very clean, almost new and the views are fantastic.
The small team of staff that work there are all so friendly and you almost feel like you're at home. It was quiet by the pool even in July and you could just relax.
There is a large Satellite TV for you to keep the children out of the midday sun and a nice snack bar for lunch although you need to go into Skala for dinner. We had a car for the two weeks which I think you really need if you want to see how beautiful the island is.
The elevated position above Skala is totally worth it for the sea views but its too far to walk down to the village itself. I would definitely go back.
