Excellent hotel in stunning hillside setting. Views from majority of rooms in complex are breathtaking (and no just because it's one STEEP hill!), easily the best we've ever enjoyed.
Food in restaurant was first rate even though there was not a great deal of variety. Restaurant staff were also excellent.
Pool and grounds were well kept and staff always helpful. Animation team were real stars, though don't expect Vegas from the evening entertainment.
Location is OK too, away from hustle and bustle of Kardamena but still only 20 mins walk away.
Do note though that the hotel is on a hillside with the reception at the bottom. The hill can be very steep in parts so the free minibus that runs 24 hours is essential.

Please note this report is for a couples holiday not a singles as I incorrectly stated.
Beware the tour operators give a 4 to 5 star rating for this property no such grades apply in Greece for Apart hotels..
We arrived mid afternoon after booking in we walked to our room and our cases were delivered by van 15 Min's later.
The rooms were comfortable, and well maintained with a see view, towels changed daily and lining twice, the maid attended every day.
The public areas were well kept and clean the reception, bar and dining staff first class.
The complex had outdoor and indoor pools and an outside kiddies pool the animation team (although only the second week of the season) had got into gear with the chance for all to join in.
We found the food to be varied and of excellent quality (heard a couple of moans of no chips etc)we had a throughly relaxing holiday and must say it was better than some 4/5 star hotels we have been to. This one gets 2 thumbs up and a definite recommendation.
Only niggle was the price varied between bars.

Just got back from 1 week in Aegean Village at the end of season.
Disagree with some comments about this hotel, as the rooms were extremly clean, maid in every day , new towels everyday. Rooms are in old greek style which is not like a modern hotel, more like a greek village.
Hotel Staff very friendly including the manager who even spent time on reception taking to customers.
The manager was in the bar watching the premier league matches with us aswell.
Bar staff were friendly and still gave excellent service even thought it was the last week of the season.
Entertainment was limited to the animation team during the day, and some entertainment at night but there was more than enough night life in Kardamena.
Location of hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but is a nice 20 min walk to Kardamena during the day. Taxi is recommended at night 5 Euros as the road is safe but very dark.
Lovely beach at end of hotel drive with fine sands and lovely sea.
Overall holiday Excellent for end of october as weather was 26 degrees all week.

We went on this holiday as a silver wedding treat, it was our first holiday without any children and we couldn't of picked better.
We arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning. The receptionist wasn't too helpful, a man with the minibus took us to our room with our luggage.
The veiws in the morning when we woke up and threw back the curtains was amazing.
We stood on the balcony for 1/2 hour just taking it all in.
The food was absolutely lovely ,the freshly cooked rolls at breakfast were to die for and were made on the premises. Yum, it's making my mouth water.
There wasn't much entertainment as it was the last week of the season and everything was closing up which was a shame but the animation team that was there tried their best.
We wouldn't hesitate to go there again in a few years time, maybe for our 30th wedding anniversary.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. 2 weeks of hell.
Our room was small and dirty. The maid was rude and awful at her job, a child could clean better than her.
The entertainment was poor, no idea how to entertain the public. You could laugh it was that bad.
Food was very poor, it is repeated weekly. The salad selection was the same choice for the whole 2weeks.
Breakfast was awful, insects flying around landing on uncovered food.
Drink prices were different in every bar in the hotel they could be of 3 euros different for the same drink.
The rep was awful he didnt have a clue, he only came for an hour a night and that was if he could be bothered to turn up, which for a supervisor (which he was) I found it disgusting.

Rooms extremely basic, insufficient storage space and air-conditioning that broke down almost daily. Nobody to repair it on site at night and manager became quite rude when we dared to complain, despite being unbearably hot without it.
Food of reasonable quality but repetitive and only one very unhappy person to serve small portions of carved meat, so expect long queues at peak periods. Wine waiters could also be rude, so in second week we chose to eat elsewhere some nights. Also, no food available anywhere in hotel to purchase on arrival after a long journey as dining room closed at 9pm - had to take a taxi in to town (5 euros each way along unlit, unpaved road, so beware if you decide to walk).
Town is great at night if you enjoy pubs, clubs and drunken teenage gatherings (our 17 year old had a good time!).
Hotel situated on steep hill so unsuitable for those with mobility problems or who object to waiting ages for minibus transport from a driver who could also be unpleasant. Dire lack of understanding of what makes good customer service from some staff.
Large pool although grout missing from tiles, so could be slippery. Some sunbeds broken/dirty. Expect to wait ages for service from pool bar - hotel appears understaffed for numbers of guests (August), leading to stressed staff and visitors.
Drinks very expensive in disco with amateur shows painful to watch (except Friday Greek night which for us was only night worth staying at hotel as only night with professional entertainment/barbeque).
Young animation team worked very hard and kept teenagers well entertained during the day with water polo, darts, etc (but most will not be returning to hotel next year - 2006).
On the bright side, a pleasant, quiet beach opposite with clear water and great views from hotel of sea and nearby islands.
No pool towels provided though, so bring your own or you'll have to pay for them on arrival. No room service or alternative to the buffet queues at dinner. Cats (some looking quite unhealthy) everywhere.
Gym tatty and poorly equipped and certainly not worth the additional payment to use it.
In all, our teenagers had a good time because of the proximity to Kardamena nightlife and the animation team. We were disappointed, however, at the attitude of some staff, the rooms (in real need of updating/refurbishment) etc.
All in all, certainly not a four or five star hotel as it is advertised/sold - more like a busy 2/3 star, with a nice beach across the road.

The hotel was well run, rooms were decent, clean and air conditioned.
Food was ok and well presented, staff friendly and helpful.
Hotel was a mile or so from Kardamena town with regular buses and cheap taxis.
No mosquito problems for us although our room was high up the hill.
Many steps but a free minibus was available to collect you if this was a problem.

My friend and I stayed at the Aegean Village Hotel for a week in May and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The room was very basic, but we expected that because the travel agent told us before we booked, that most places in Greece are basic. But it was clean, with daily maid service.
The food was lovely, especially the fresh bread made everyday. Someone mentioned about small portions from a bad-tempered man - when in actual fact he gave 2 slices, and then looked at you to see if you wanted more, and I think it was more boredom than bad-temper!
The staff were very friendly, the waiters pausing to chat to you while taking your order for drinks. The manager also stopped to chat with us - including once to shake his head at our sun-burnt legs! :) Of an evening there was always someone there to greet us at the dining room, to ask if we'd had a good day.
The hotel is about a 15-30 minute walk from the centre of Kardamena, depending on the speed you walk. The taxi's are cheap, and the receptionists will willingly call for one if you ask. We loved the nightlife of Kardamena, but enjoyed the peacefulness of the Aegean Village while we slept, and while we spent the days by the lovely pool.
The entertainment wasn't fantastic, but they certainly tried hard, and attempted to get you involved.
I would most definitely visit this hotel again, and would highly recommend it.
