Myltopi is a restaurant that you will be able to see from the pool area at Billy’s. It looks like a windmill but it’s a beautiful restaurant. It is a bit pricey but the food and service are outstanding! If you ring up in advance they will take you to and from the restaurant for free!

Beaches

Lots of places to eat and drink but the menu is kind of repeated at most places. Some were better than others in partioular Sebastians, Sydneys (by far the best) and the beach taverna 50m from the Albatross.
It would appear that this resort will not survive the current credit crunch, far too few visitors, every restaurant and bar was empty - apart from Sydneys. And Memory's got quite busy, might have something to do with their pricing policy for drinks, we visited most nights.

Not a particularly nice beach at this end of kefalos the harbour is a nice 10 min walk away where you can book a trip to the nearby volcanic island of Nisyros.
Lots of good Greek restaurants to choose from all at a very good price.
We liked Marie's and Captain Johns which served good food and a nice atmosphere.

The resort is not suited for families with young children as the beaches are not the best. The resort also does not cater for the younger generation with clubs etc unlike Karmadena. I feel the resort is suited for couples who want to relax and have quiet. There are plenty of good restraunts and bars along the front to have a drink and a good meal. There is one bar that puts on entertainment most evenings which is Sydneys. I would return to this resort in a few years time but not to the Albatross Apartments

Kefalos itself has changed since I was last there in 1995. There are a few more shops, bars and resaurants than before but the feel of the place has not changed at all. It's still the most relaxing holiday I have had since my previous visit. The people are very friendly and helpful. The retaurants, bars and shops are excellent without being over the top.
I will not be waiting another 13 years to return again.

we hired a dt 125 for 5 days from manolis for 95 eauros and a buggy (cute) from trust for 35 euros for one day. rock bar was lovely atmosphere the riverside cafe for my lovely english breakfasts every day!kefalos itself was very quiet the main strip is a bit away from these apartments kardamena was well worth a visit and much livelier and kos town was lovely with lots of history ie castle and hypocrates tree. Not much in the way of shopping so i would recomend a day trip to turkey which cost 80 euros with travel rep for 2 people to buy stuff.we will not be returning to kos as we were bored we visited all of the island on the bike and couldnt find nothing else to do. id recomend this island for people who want to relax and do NOTHING AT ALL but after seeing all the island there was nothing else to do.

Crysoula is a wonderful resort that i'm sure anybody would like to revisit, i recommend everybody goes there, if for nothing else to try Grannies chips!!
The pool is the biggest in Kos and has plenty of sunbeds. However the drinks are rather expensive 3.50 euros for a pint when its half the price down the road.
However the hotel cleanliness was outstanding and the hotel food was Good, however ,again, expensive the location is great as its next to Manolis car/bike renting (However i recommend you go to Trust further down the road) and Jims super market, were all the locals are freindly, next to the pool bar is a games room were you can hire a PS2 or the computer, they even have a pool table and table-football.The staff are very nice and friendly to all the people who visit and they will help you with anything as long as you ask.
The hotel entertainment is very limited to a quiz and some free meals however you spend money on the drinks....
Over all Crysoula is great!
Oh, and Nicko, stay on the Irish whiskey matey!

Kefalos is genuinely a great place, very clean and like I have said generally welcoming, the bars are great and serve food and drink at a reasonable cost compared with other resorts on the island.
The beach is limited if you want a sandy beach with no pebbles, but ok.

Kefalos is ok but a lot smaller than I expected . The best bit of beach is a 30 minute walk from the Archondia and is sandy with an island you can swim to and has some ancient Greeek ruins right on the beach. (the water is freezing though)
It was a bit dead when we were there, most restaurants were empty but we would recommend Scorpios for nice food though the menu is all over the place (Gordon Ramsay would have a field day)
Kefalos is a bit of a shanty town in terms of looks. There are a lot of unfinished or derelict buildings and generally the place could look 10 times better with just a little care and attention from the locals.
The 'supermarkets' are ok but quite overpriced which I wasn't expecting. Take plenty of books because if you run out you will be looking to spend 13.50 Euros for a novel.
In my opinion Kefalos is average. If I were to go back to Kos I would definately stay in Kos Town.

Kefalos seems to be half asleep some of the time. We never saw a full bar or Taverna, apart from the Aussie Steakhouse(2 hour wait for your main course though). There are a few shops selling the usual tourist stuff but just catch the bus into Kos for this sort of shopping. Plenty of good places to eat all selling more or less the same sort of food. Our faves were
Myth and Food by Scorpio's very cheap and nice Gyros
4 Seasons Do a 2 course BBQ and all you drink!! for 9 euros
Hubs Italian /Greek very nice food, lovely owner
Hippocrates- Reasonable food, not that cheap
Aussie Steak House- Nice food but waaaaay to long a wait 2 hours to get a main course the kids fell asleep and couldn't eat.
Rainbow-nice staff but utterly awful food and do you really need chips, potatoes and rice?
Captain John's- Long wait and the worst fish I have ever eaten, cooked to extinction.
Agios Theadolis- Over the hill at Wave Beach, lovely food but a tad dear.
Car Hire we used Manilos, 75 Euros for three days for a Matiz Atol with AC.
Trips we used Trust to go to
Three Islands- long day and not much time swimming
Niyssios- Not for wee kids, but facinating place
Bubble beach- Overated and packed like sardines
Other beaches- Sunny and Wave beaches both good but you need transport or get the local bus and walk down the hill.
We went to the Water Park by local bus cost 16 euros return on the bus for 4 and the park was 17 euros per adult and 12 for a kid, our youngest got in free. There are strict height/age restrictions on the rides, you can sign a disclaimer if you want your kids to do the best rides. I did and our youngest rode the Black Hole with me three times and was fine. Up to each person though.
We went to Kos Town by local bus cost 24 Euros, left at 10.30 and caught the 9,00pm back. Good shopping and a nice place to visit. A bit more hectic than Kefalos with lots of touting for restaurants.
The car hire was good we used it to travel to The Knights castle, Kos Town, Zia and the Thermal Pools. Driving is easy, my first time abroad driving and it was fine.
All in all a decent holiday but the euro makes it quite an expensive time. Average meal out for 4 with drinks, the kids having either a share of ours or a kids meal about 45 euros. Beer between 1.5 and 4 euros.
