The beach is mostly shingle and gets very hot - the sea gets very deep very quickly so I would advise caution with small children as the wave conditions can change very quickly with the sea breeze. Not much entertainment in Lambi but you can easily walk into Kos Town for more lively nightlife.

This is an absolutely stunning new resort. The hotel itself is in lambi we took a taxi into kos town which took about 10 minutes where there is a harbor plenty of shops, restaurants to choose from and numerouse bars and clubs it was good for the young and lively. It was great to jump in a taxi and go back to the hotel which was relaxed and quiet.

Beach was a bit crowded with too many sunbeds, but sea was nice. Kos town is very picturesque with boat trips and lot of shops to visit and interesting ruins to wander around.

Lambi is a great resort, only 20 mins stroll from Kos Town, along the seafront road or inland along roads lined with shops and restaurants.
The beach is just about the best you'll get near to Kos Town. The choice of places to eat and drink is overwhelming.
Don't miss the 3 island boat trip from the Harbour. It's a fantastic day out.

Kos Town is definatly one of the most extraordinary resorts I have ever stayed in. The harbour is beatiful at night with all the boats lit up and the churches look stunning with their blue crosses illuminated. We spent two whole days looking round the town and its castle and ruins as there was so much to see! The nightlife is varied from the young and lively bar street, to the music cafes the other side of town, and the traditional Greek tavernas surrounding the beautiful squares. The local buses run very very frequently from Kos Town to all the other resorts and tourist spots on the island and are extremely cheap! Its only about £2 each way to get to Kefalos on the other side of the island! Can thoroughly recommend the resort to families, couples and groups of all ages. There is definatly something to do for everyone!

Lambi and Kos Town are great bases for a holiday. There's always lots to do and it's good being near the harbour where there's the added advantage of planning a day trip to a nearby island.
Also, there's a lot of pleasure boats in the harbour which will take you out on a barbeque trip or 3 island trip to neighbouring small islands like Pserimos, Kalymnos and Plati. I have been on the POSEIDON, ARGO and APHRODITE. They were all great days out and we made friends with the crew. Have been back many times and never tire of spending the day on the boat.
Walk along the harbour of a night and bargain with the PRs working for the boats. A day out should cost no more than Euro 20-25 each. You might get a better deal for a bigger group or negotiate for children - it should be cheaper.
Buses run frequently along the coast from Agia Fokas at one end to Alikarnassos at the other. The fare is quite cheap (usually only Euro 1.50 each). Buses seem infrequent but they do run to a (rough) timetable of 3/4 buses each way every hour.
Taxis are easy to come by in the Town. An average fare from Kos Town to Lambi will be around Euro 4-5. Taxi drivers are friendly but it's wise to agree the fare before you set off if you are going out of town.
The old town in Kos is lovely at night. Lots of little shops line the narrow streets and there's also some great restaurants and chill out bars nearby. I recommend the Olive restaurant which serves meze. This area seems a little "older" than the main Bar/Club street area. It is also a little more classy and laid back as it's aimed more at the 25+ age group and locals.
Plenty of shopping opportunities in Kos Town. If you get fed up of the local delights get a ferry over to Bodrum for the day. There you can bargain with the locals and bag a bargain "designer" item.

The resort area of Lambi was great. Plenty of bars and restaurants. Very lively at night but not once did we see any trouble or louts. It felt very safe.
Kos town had lots of shops and even more restaurents. The square was nice to look round in the evening.
The beach at Lambi was very clean. I would go back to this area again.
