kalathos itself is disapointing just a busy main road 10 mins walk from hotel with petrol station and a couple of bars.thank goodness for konstantine taverna opposite hotel, really excellent food evey time.most people get taxi to lindos for nightlife about 10 euros takes 10 mins.massive shingle beach with beautiful clear sea you could alsmost have to yourself. please visit tsambiki beach and agathi beach-excuse spellings!-sandy and fabulous.

Kalathos is a quiet area which offers a limited but complete range of facilities for anyone staying inside or outside the Atrium Palace Hotel.
The shops and bars are concentrated along the main road with a mini market and The beach is long and quite stoney.
It is pretty well deserted except for the Atrium Palace Hotel guests using the stretch around the sun loungers. Swimming is safe with no surf and a short slope into the sea, note there is not much to see if you are into snorkelling.
Boat trips are available from the beach along the coast in both directions, these are well worth taking and a good way to appreciate the views of Lindos in particular. Note that this part of the east coast seems relatively hot compared with the rest of Rhodes and had very little wind in August.
Lindos takes the prize of hottest spot, don't know why but it is noticeably warmer than anywhere else we visited on Rhodes.

Lindos is my favourite destination (with the exception of Florida, although that's a different type).
I find the relaxed mood of the village very nice. There's a lot of shops, bars and restuarant and the views are magnificent from some of the rooftops.
A trip to the Acropolis is recommended, however do be prepared for quite a hike.
If your looking for a lively time, I do believe there are a couple of nightclubs, however I feel it more for couples and families who want a more relaxed feel to their holiday.
For me, to look for the perfect beach holiday, I can't recommend the place anymore.
My scores are based on my own preferences.
