We consider the The Lindos Mare as quite a "find". It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff are pleasant and always there to serve or help you. the accommodation is on about 8 floors tumbling down a hillside - there are lots of stairs, however most places including the beach can be reached by a series of lifts. The beach is sandy and has sunbeds and umbrellas to hire. The pool and surrounding area are near to the top of the hill and have fantastic views of the Vlicha Bay - as do the restaurants, bars and most of the bedrooms. It is worth asking for a seaview as a few rooms do not have a good view. The pool area has plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas and although we were there at the height of the season was never crowded. There were children but all of them were well behaved and polite!

The food is of a very high standard and there was plenty of choice. We enjoyed breakfasts where there was always a fantastic variety of continental fare and cooked breakfasts - eggs and pancakes being cooked to order by an egg chef.

Near to the bar is the A La Carte Restaurant (again with views over the bay). Food here was excellent! If you go out on day trips the hotel will also provide lunch baskets for you to take with you - our only complaint being that we couldn't eat it all.

During the fortnight that we were there there were several theme nights in the A La Carte Restaurant - Seafood Night, Greek Night etc - and these were very good. On a few other nights there were singers (of average ability) but if you want a loud social life you would need to go to nearby Lindos whivh is about 20 minutes walk or 6 Euros by taxi.

Certainly Five Star across all categories. Not our usual location cos although called 'Lindos' Mare you do need to get a taxi (5E) or the bus (0.90E but they finish early and it's not too pleasant waiting at roadside). Consequently there's no 'promenade by the shops and bars after you've had your dinner'.

The beach is easily reached via a couple of lifts or a wander down a covered walkway and there are a couple of superb cafes with views to die for but the other couple of large hotels on the beach are all inclusive and don

We had a fantastic holiday at the Lindos Mare. The hotel was wonderful and the staff made our holiday extra special. The service was EXCELLENT. When we arrived there was a wonderful man who insisted on carrying as many bags that he could carry. We spent the whole time on the way to our room trying to help him/ but he was having none of it! - he was such a lovely man and was bending over backwards to help us. Great place, great service.

The rooms were lovley and clean with fantastic views. The Swimmming pool was lovely and clean with a good amount of sun beds. The hotel is built into a hill so it is very up and down although the tram from the swimming pool to the main reception helps here. The fact that the hotel is on a hill makes the views out of this world and this will add bonus to your holiday destination.

The beach was beautiful and a little walk down from the hotel. You can purchase sunbeds and umbrellas. The water was usually calm.

The Greek nights were a lot of fun and worth every penny! Most evenings the hotel bar was very quite and maybe a little too quite for teenagers - a taxi to the local town didnt take long and was reasonably priced. During the day Lindos was a lovely place to visit and very busy with lots of lovely shops.

RHODES town is a lovely place to visit BUT BE WARNED that someone may stop you with scratch cards and tell you that you have one a prize. You may be whisked off by taxi to a place where you will have the sales people trying to get you to part with your money and get you to buy into a holiday club (Club Greece). If you do not want to buy into a holiday Club do not get into the taxi cos the sales people work on hard sell techniques.

We went to Turkey on a day trip - this was a lot of fun although try and take some money for your shopping. You will not be left alone untill you buy. The Turkey show was short and sweet but nice although the food was ok - it was not my cup of tea. It was just nice to see Turkey. The ride from Turkey to Rhodes via was a little rough and this was the only bad bit of the day - everything else was quite interesting and at least we can say we have been to Turkey!

We were lucky enough to go and play football with the staff at Lindos Mare and this made our holiday very special indeed - well I dindnt play personally and left that to my husband, son and his friend.

The food was wonderful with plenty of choice - to be honest I ate far more on this holiday than any other holiday I had been too previously. MEN MUST WEAR LONG TROUSERS AT MEAL TIMES - so make sure the men pack a couple of pairs or so.

If you have booked this holiday you will have a wonderful time. We do hope to go back one day.

A fantstic hotel in a superb setting overlooking the bay. All rooms had sea views and were very spacious. Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent with a wide choice to suit most tastes. Buffet breakfast with a range of hot and cold food (including bacon and eggs!) Dinner was also buffet with waiter service for the main course (choice of 3, one being vegetarian option). Hotel itself was just over a mile from Lindos along a busy road with no pavement, not suitable for walking at night. There was a bus stop at the top of the drive with buses to Lindos and Rhodes but the last bus was at 7.30 but the taxi from Lindos was only 5 euros. The entertainment was nothing to get excited about although the Greek night was good but it came with an 11 euro surcharge for the bbq but you could still eat in the restaurant and watch from the back. There was a kids club for under 12s but the person in charge didn't seem to do very much. Overall an excellent hotle and we would like to return.

We stayed at the Lindos Mare for our honeymoon flying out at the end of September for 10 days. Upon our arrival the staff were very welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to receive a newly married couple. We had a lovely surprise when we found that they had upgraded us to a junior suite, and had also left champagne and fruit in the room. Rose petals had been scattered across the bed - truly romantic.

The porter happily took our luggage to the room via the "ski lift" - a novelty. The hotel is set into the hillside and not a typical 8 storey building. All of the rooms overlook the beautiful bay - this really is a wonderful view.

The room itself was clean, large, airy and very well decorated and furniture was also very nice. This was unusual as greek accommodation is usually so basic. The bathroom was very nice with a full size bath, shower and large dressing unit that was fully lit.

The room also had a balcony and I believe all the rooms had this. We enjoyed some lovely pre dinner drinks of an evening while watching the sun set over the sea!

The food served was of a good standard but really this is down to personal taste. We enjoyed some of the meals but not others. This was a fault of ours though and not of the catering. The service was very efficient but at the same time you didn't get the feeling of being rushed. The restaurant commanded lovely views over the bay. The head waiter seemed to switch all the guests around at each meal so that we all enjoyed the views which was very nice.

The beach was located at the foot of the hotel which was a 5 minute walk down a hill. A lift was available for those who did not wish to walk back up!

If you preferred to stay by the pool this was definitely one of the high spots of the hotel. Very high class. Beautiful pool furniture, great taverna and bar nearby again looking over the bay.

The hotel itself was just on the outskirts of Lindos town and could be walked in around 20 minutes.

The entertainment at the hotel was not great and catered more towards the european guests and so we ventured out on most evenings. The whole experience was very much geared towards couples and we didn't see any children there at all (not that we are averse to them we have 3 of our own!).

We returned home happy and relaxed and would definitely stay here again.
