Location
Even though we were self catering we had breakfast by the pool a few mornings and this was excellent value.
The location of the hotel was good and only about a 5-10 minute walk to all the restaurants and bars of the resort.
The two pools at the apartments were very clean and not too busy (always sunbeds available at any time of day)
All staff at Pefki Islands were polite and helpful.
There was both daytime and evening entertainment on most days and evenings at Pefki Islands and at its sister hotel.
The supermarket nearby had all essentials.
We have booked for 2007 and would highly recommend the Pefki Islands without hesitation.

I have noticed some people have complained about the music during the day. To be honest, i do not think the music was that loud and the staff are only doing it to make sure its not boring etc for people staying there. I would rather have music in the background, after all, we are all on holiday.
The weather in July is lovely and we did not have one bad day.
We have already booked to go back in July 2007 and are looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday.
Katarina, Lolos, Sakis, Nikos, Johnna, Helen, beware....we are on our way!!

As it was the end of the season the only entertainment laid on was Karaoke two evenings a week with a very nice English lad called John. The pool-side music was certainly not intrusive although, on occasions, it was a wee bit repetitive. English breakfast round the pool was very reasonable, cooked to perfection and certain satisfied us till well into the afternoon.
The staff are all very helpful and all speak reasonable English, with a special mention for Catorina and Koula in reception, the two bar tenders Sakis and Nikos, and one of the pool side waiters Janis, all of whom were exceptionally helpful, friendly and willing to have a laugh and joke, plus they were brilliant with the kids, they really put the icing on the cake so to speak.
My only qualm was the damn Greek plumbing, but you can't have everything can you?

It was very clean and vey bright in white and blue. It had air conditioning and a hook on the wall for the shower which can be quite rare in Greece.
The two pool areas were very nice both with bar and all the staff were extremely nice. Sunbeds were plentiful so never felt the need to rush down to get one.
To get to the beach which is pleasant although not that long you walked through the hotel grounds next door and down some steps, a mere 5 min walk.
It took a bout 10 mins to stroll into the town where there are plenty of restaurants and bars but not roudy. Didn't really stick around the hotel at night so can't comment too much on the entertainment.

Considering the size of the resort, it's within easy reach of the centre (a 5-10 minute stroll). It's set off the beaten track, in a nice quiet location above the beach, which is less than 5 minutes away.
The bar staff were extremely polite and friendly, although try to avoid the "special shot" given to you by Sakis and Nicos!!
The entertainment wasn't too good but was nothing more than expected.
We'd visit this hotel again.

I had previously telephoned the hotel regarding the rooms to ensure we were next to the boys and spoke to a lovely lady. We arrived mid afternoon hot and tired and our coach was greeted by the receptionist (who was the lady I had spoken to) we were quickly checked in and were helped with our cases to our rooms.
Our rooms were on the 3rd floor with one overlooking the pool and the other overlooking the front of the hotel. Both rooms were a good size with 2 single beds and fridge cooking rings etc and bathrooms and 2 huge balconies.
The air con was efficient and it was needed as it was very hot.
The pool area we overlooked was the larger pool which was divided in to 2 with a swim up bar, there was also a smaller pool.
There was no programme of daytime activities in Pefki islands but stuff seemed to be organised at the Lindia Thalassa for both sets of guests. This meant that it was quite peaceful around the poolsides with the smaller pool being the quieter of the two. There was music played but it was not intrusive. The pool area and toilets were kept very clean and there was no problem getting a sunbed.
We ate breakfast at the pool bar a couple of times and enjoyed it.
The beach was accessed by walking through the Lindia Thalassa and down some steps, we mostly went early on a morning and did not hire a bed, just basically going for a swim. The beach was so peaceful 9-10 on a morning and it was always clean. It is quite rocky but if you walk to the right it gets less so.
We never bother with hotel entertainment so I cannot comment on that, there was football shown by the smaller pool and sometimes in reception and my husband and son were able to watch cricket also.
The rooms were kept very clean and reception was clean and pleasant.
The Pefki islands resort is set a little way out from the centre of Pefkos but it is very peaceful and quiet, to walk to the main bit took 5-10 minutes bearing in mind that it was very hot and we strolled very slowly.
Our younger son kept a record of everywhere we ate out so that I could review it on here, our favourite places were Artemis (best food, nice atmosphere chocolate cake to die for and good value)
We also liked Macedonia and Nefeli again food excellent and good value Colosseum, Terpsis and the Chinese were good. Philosophia lovely view nice food but not a lot of it and quite expensive.
We were not so keen on Enigma and Nostalgia, not saying they were bad just not as good as the rest.
Our trips were booked with local travel places, did the waterpark (ok)and Rhodes Town by night which was fabulous and left me wanting to go back again. We also went to Lindos on the glass bottomed boat from Pefkos harbour, this was without doubt the best boat trip I have ever done.
Would we go back to Rhodes, Pefkos and Pefki Islands yes to all three but perhaps just as a couple as I think that my younger son was wanting to do a little more to do on a night.

Location was good as you only had to walk a minute and your be in the town.
The staff were really nice and helpful and the cleaners were excellent.
There was a shop which was good for the kids.
The swimming pool was really good it had a swim up bar which was fab.
All my friends loved it as well and there was loads things to do in Rhodes! it was so good and any one should go there!
There was a bit of entertainment like some karaoke.
thank-you Sarah xxxxxxx

The 2 swimming pools were very impressive, and we enjoyed the swim up bars. The entertainment was limited, but what there was was good and the place had a very good atmosphere.
The only thing that could have made it better for us was to have food severed around the bar in the evenings. We would definately go back.

The apartments are well kept but sparse, wet feet and the tiled floors did not mix well for the children. There is no mat in the tiled shower either so take one. Overall the apartment and complex were well kept.
The location of the apartments is ideal for going to the beach 200 yards away (be warned we had to pay 8 Euros a day for the beds) free if you just sit on the sand though. Walk into town is about 15 mins.
The staff at the complex were all very nice and helpful, although the bar staff were less than enthusiastic (note two bar staff at the Lindia Thallassa - Sister hotel were good fun).

The kitchen is supplied with the usual two rings and fridge plus a kettle and toaster. There was no other table or work surface in the kitchen so we moved the dressing table from one of the bedrooms into the kitchenette to enable us to plug in the kettle etc and make up feeds for our baby. Another small niggle was not having a washing up bowl (first time in many visits to Greece that we haven't)
There are two shower rooms which would be useful for a larger family. Remember to bring a shower mat if you have small children.
We were in a three storey block with no apartments on ground level - all were accessed by steps - we were in the lower ground so we only had one flight to carry a pushchair.
The accommodation is clean and basic with maid-service six days a week. One word of warning - the maids tend to walk right in without knocking which was a bit of a surprise!!
Can not comment on the staff in any detail as we did not spend time around the pool and preferred to explore Rhodes instead.
According to the brochure the hotel is located a short walk through gardens to the beach. It neglected to mention the 60 steps down to it - again not ideal for those with babies. The beach itself is small but pleasant with a gentle shelf into the calm and clean sea. As with so many beaches in Greece and elsewhere it was crammed with loungers but we managed to find space away from them.
We would not visit this hotel again partly because we felt we were paying for things like the "swim-up bar" and evening entertainment that added nothing to our enjoyment of our holiday and partly because we would not want to visit Rhodes again.
The accommodation itself did not merit the price we paid. Admittedly, we only booked two weeks before travelling so our choices were limited.
