We travelled to Hotel Aegean Plaza in September 2007 as a wedding party.
A number of relatives were already in the resort (different hotel) and some also in this hotel. My husband and I arrived at the hotel with our young daughter and my parents.
Upon arrival we were told that there was no room for my parents and that they would be sent to another hotel in another resort for few days until a room became available. We were told by the rep that this happened alot with many hotels in this resort and that this hotel had been 50% overbooked that season. After some arguing it was agreed that my parents would be sent to another hotel but in the same resort.
We were given a large dark room with a tiny window, the safe was not attached to anything so although we could put our belongings in the safe this could then be simply picked up and removed from the room. We complained to reception and were told that in a few days we would be given a new room with a pool view nextdoor to my parents. A few days later both ourselves and my parents were given pool rooms next door to each other. From then on the holiday was fantastic, the rooms were very spacious and clean.
The cleaners came into the rooms every day, changed the towels and were visable cleaning the hotel and grounds all day every day. Hotel was extremely clean, the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was ok, just what you would expect really.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Apart from the disappointing start we had a great stay in this hotel and it wouldn't put us off going again. I would recommend contacting the hotel before your stay just incase.

We stayed in a suite at this Aegean Plaza and found it ideal for the 2 of us.
The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and towels changed daily too. Free air con was great as it was over 90 degrees throughout our stay and was def an essential. The advertised mini bar is just a fridge but worked and kept our drinks lovely and cold.
While the breakfasts were a little repetitive they were always well presented and hot.
The staff at the hotel are great and nothing is ever too much trouble.
We went in June when we thought it would be quieter, but were quite surprised at how busy it is - would definately not want to be there in July/August. Also there does appear to be a constant stream of wedding parties (5 in the week we were there)but the rooms are very well insulated against noise and so even the late partying does not disturb you in your rooms.
Still some problems with sun beds, with towels out from 6am, although on our last day they did bring several new ones out.
All in all a lovely clean hotel with super staff and well worth a visit.

We stayed at the Aegean Plaza for 2 weeks in June 2007 as we were getting married in Santorini in our second week.
On arrival we were allocated to a first floor room when we had specically asked Thomson's a year prior when we booked for a ground floor room as we had a toddler. We complained (along with a few other guests who were given dark basement type rooms it seems). Apparently this hotel suffers from regular overbooking issues - we were told the week previous to this that a number of Thomas Cook customers were double booked and had to be moved to a different hotel.
Anyway after 2 nights in the 1st floor room we were then moved to a much better ground floor room which was excellent and very clean. However, just as we thought we had got things sorted we received a phone call from friends who were due to fly out on the following Thursday.
Thomson had just phoned them to say there was no room in the Aegean Plaza which they booked a year previous and they would have to stay in a different resort (Perissa). We were very upset at this and complained to our rep (also our wedding co-ordinator) and after many phonecalls managed to get the best man and 2 other friends into the Kamari Beach Hotel and more importantly they were all happy with this. To be fair to the rep - she tried her hardest to help in a difficult situation and we got a free wedding cake from Thomson's as compensation.
The hotel is good but it isn't 5 star - the rooms depending on which you get allocated are clean and comfortable. The air con is fantastic, plenty of wardrobe space and having a bath for my little girl was great.
As for the breakfast - continental and the same every day (we ate out in the last week). Get down early or there isn't much left as they seem to stop stocking up the food up to as much as half an hour before closing.
The pool is nice but needed to be bigger as it was hard to get a sunbed and towels were put on loungers the night before - very annoying.
Due to more negatives than positives I wouldn't stay at the Aegean Plaza again. At least our wedding had no traumas!

Small, cosmopolitan, clean hotel.
Lovely pool with jacuzzi area. Always enough sunbeds, could do with a few more brollies though.
Large basic rooms which were cleaned daily...nothing ever a problem to the staff. Shower a little to be desired and needed to be held, also hairdryer in bath area which couldn't be used till bathroom free
Pool bar well stocked - good selection of cocktails and smoothies/shakes soft drinks etc. Bar food good and plentiful, (able to share a lot of the dishes) however breakfast buffet very repetitive and could have had a better selection. Bar staff great and extremely helpful, as well as reception staff.
5 min walk to beach and bars/restaurants. Supermarket directly opposite hotel with helpful staff.
No entertainment. Pool bar open late with background music, again great for a quiet night cap.
Would definitely go back again.
