A first we thought this was just an average hotel, however, with good views, very good food and excellent staff we soon changed our view.
The rooms seemed quite basic but they were cleaned every day with linen and towels changed every other day, by very nice maids. The beds were firm but very comfortable, we have never slept so well on holiday.
The locations of the bar and dining areas, both on different levels, meant a very pleasant outlook over the Med' when eating.
The clean pool was nicely located with plenty of sunbeds and parasols, there is a bar by the pool with absolutely delightful staff.
We stayed there on a half board package and missed the simple but excellent food for the two days at the wedding and my wifes birthday party. The Octopus was sensational!
This small and friendly hotel is part way up the mountain and not to difficult a walk, unless you have a problem with mobility, a comment in the visitors book referred to the incline as "heart attack hill", so be warned! but also remember it's worth it.
We travelled to Santorini for a family wedding, in fact there were 36 of us and although they stayed in many different hotels without serious complaint, we believe we had the best hotel and deal.
We made "The Love Boat" our local beach bar, all the people on the island seemed so friendly but the young couple and the bar maid were incredible.
There was a large group of us in Santorini for a family wedding, we were all in separate hotels, but without arrangement we all seemed to treat The Love Boat as our local and more often than not arrived there in the evening also quite often during the day.
We don't drink a lot and back England rarely visit a pub but, The Love Boat is a nice, friendly and comfortable place to watch the world go by and became very much part of our holiday pleasure.
They often brought us a round of shots and the occasional round on the house, always with smile and a friendly chat.
One evening the owner overheard that it was my wife's birthday, he returned to our table with a huge dish of mixed ice creams with lit sparklers and singing happy birthday to my wife. The thrill and joy on her face was a wonderful, thank you "The Love Boat".
The Bride and Groom made the mistake of taking the rep's recommendation to finish the wedding evening at a beach front club, immediately we were aware of highly extortionate prices, fortunately our party was ripped off for only one round.
The next day we returned to "The Love Boat". The nicest people, low priced drinks and wonderful hospitality helped to make our stay in Santorini memorable.
Say, "lovely jubbly" to the owner and he will remember us, we will soon be booking for a return trip, especially to renew these acquaintances.
Don't go all that way without a trip to "Thira" and "Oia", you will be astounded by the beauty. Try also, the climb to the top of the mountain, it starts outside the Antinea Hotel, it's well worth it but take plenty of water with you.
Happy holidays.
