Kolios is a lovely resort with good tavernas and great beaches. It is located around bus stop 14,15 so is central to the town and Koukanaries.
Definately the resort that we will return to next year but different apartments.
The beaches were lovely with as much or as little to do as you wanted.

We found the resort to be quiet and relaxed. The Taverners were very nice to eat in and all the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The beach was clan and tidy and the water clear and warm even at the eand of May.
The resort had a few bars that showed sport and had greek evenings but mainle the resort is made up of Taverners.

Kolios is a very quiet resort, centred around the tavernas, rather than bars. Most restaurants were of a good standard, serving traditional Greek fare, no signs of a fast food outlet invasion. It's certainly not the sort of place for raving it up, but we would suggest visiting Skiathos Town if you fancy a later, louder night.
There are two main beaches either side of Stefano's apartments, Kolios Bay is quiet and laid-back, with a couple of nice tavernas. Towards the 'town' is a lovely long stretch of beach which would most likely suit families. The 'gem' was to follow the steps from Stefano's to the sea, where there was a tiny alcove, fitting about 6 sunbeds- fantastic!
Also, if you want to try the best octopus ever, or if your're a little less adventurous with your seafood, you have got to try the Infinity Blue restaurant- it's worth the trek up the steps- honest!

The area, on the whole was clean although there was some litter to be found. There was very little to do in the resort. The nearest supermarket being 250m away. There were few restaurants within a 15 minute walk either way.

Kolios is only a small resort but has a couple of excellent beaches with lovely crystal clear sea. There are a few taverners the best we went to were jimmys and green park, a more expensive one is Infinity Blue, get a table on the outer terrace for stunning views over the sea. Nearby are a few pool bars all of which were very good and informal, most do a Greek night once a week which are good value for money. Kolios is a laid back type of resort that would suit couples of all ages and families.

Skiathos is beautiful, beaches are clean, water is lovely and warm, good snorkelling.
Loads to do if you're into watersports or if not then loads of quiet beaches where you are more or less alone!
Hire a 4x4 to really get the most out of your holiday and explore all the island. We found this empty beach with a tiny little taverna which sold great food
All the food we had was excellent, if you get the chance go to Infinity Blue in Kolios, amazing food and superb view

Plenty of quiet places to relax but also some nice funky beach taverns and good restaurants in the area.
Good for a nice quiet relaxing break.

Great beaches, sunbed charges were very reasonable although we found the umbrellas a little tired on Kolios beach and some were so small it was hard for two people to get shade at the same time.
The small supermarkets all stocked just about everything you could possibly need - wouldnt bother trailing suntan lotion with me next year as everything is available in the resort.
Didnt venture too far at night as it was mainly a chill out beach holiday but had some fantastic meals at Jimmys Pizza which never actually included Pizza but all kinds of different Greek dishes cooked by his wife. Did try the Kolios Beach restaurant but just the once - ordered taramasalata and they gave us Thousand Island Dressing !!! not recommended.

Skiathos has everything for most people, it is a very nice town, lots of resturants, shops that cater for everything, and very nice people.
The harbour has resturants all the way along the front, most are run by the owners, it makes for a loverly evening out where you can make friends or just keep yourself to yourself.
I understand that there are a few "music venues" popping up, but thery are down the far end of the harbour, so it dosent spoil the "nice" part of the town, you will find "if you have too" one mcdonalds resturant in town but it is only a small one, hopefully it will not be around for too long. Hope you will enjoy your stay. Yamas

There were a few restaurants in the resort and all were quiet good. There was a fabulous restaurant above our accommodation which had magnificent views over the bay and the food and service was fantastic.
