We stayed at the Muses Hotel at the end June 2012 for 2 weeks. The hotel rooms are the most basic we have ever had with no television and no tea making facilities. Having no TV was no problem as we don’t put it on anyway but some people couldn’t cope I suppose.
The thing that really didn’t go down well was having to pay 40 euros for a plug for the fridge for 2 weeks. In a hot country it should be standard. I don’t mind paying for the air conditioning and safe deposit box as we always have in the cheaper accommodation in Greece. Having said that the rooms were cleaned every day and towels and sheets every 3 days so nothing to complain about there.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming with the taverna on site being very good value and with good food too. Although we did prefer the Panorama next door for our evening meals.
The breakfast was adequate but very repetitive ( I can’t look at a boiled egg for a while yet)a couple of times I just couldn’t face it again and 1 day we went out and bought our breakfast just to have a change, but having said that for what we paid, the hotel was enough for our needs, but if you like luxury you will have to pay a lot more and stay elsewhere.
We would use the hotel again if we were to go back to Skiathos.

We had an excellent room in a small block towards the back of the complex.
The room was very spacious and kept spotlessly clean by the friendly maids who cleaned the rooms every day. Linen and towels were changed every other day.
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. For example, one of the things that irritates me slightly about Greece is the fact that there is usually only one small pillow on your bed and as a result I wake up with a sore neck. I asked for a couple of extra pillows and within 10 minutes we had them!
The food in the hotels' restaurant (The Hera) was excellent as was the buffet breakfast. The swimming pool was well maintained along with the gardens and public areas.
There is no entertainment in the hotel apart from the music played in the pool bar, but hey, i wouldn't expect any!
After all, Skiathos town can give you all you want! This place is for relaxing!
There is a bus stop outside the hotel and a 15 minute service into Skiathos town.

Rooms are situated in small blocks of 4 set in well kept gardens.
Rooms are very clean, there was many times we went out leaving the room a mess to come back to it spotless.
Breakfast is continental buffet style with plenty to go round and very good. There is a taverna at the hotel with excellent food we ate there nearly every night.
Staff make you feel very welcome and make the holiday memorable. All round an excellent choice would recommend to anyone.
