These apartments are the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. I accept that you get what you pay for, but just because it's cheap doesn't mean the staff have to be rude and horrible. The only nice member of staff was the girl who worked behind the pool bar.
The rooms could also do with a bit of an upgrade. The bathroom was grotty and the bed linen and towels were a bit worse for wear. The food wasn't great, even my kids commented that it was horrible and they'll usually eat anything.
I accept that insects can sometimes be a problem in hot countries, but this place was literally infested and they don't seem to care when you ask for sprays or powders, they just say, it's because it's hot.
We spoke to people who have stayed there a few times and they said if it's just used as a base and no more, then it's fine, but as they don't have any entertainment (apart from karaoke on a Friday) then you don't really have to spend much time there.
Personally, I would much rather paid that bit extra and stay somewhere cleaner and friendlier. Kalamaki is a lovely resort, plenty of nice restaurants and bars, the usual array of shops and plenty to keep the kids happy. Choose your hotel carefully and I'm sure you would have a brilliant holiday, but the Macedona Apartments spoilt what could have been a very enjoyable holiday for us.

Hotel tip: A low grade hotel
