We stayed at Cactus from 1st to the 15th may 2007.
The apartment was what we expected and was cleaned daily.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Yianis the barman.

Room was clean on arrival. The cleaner came in every day to empty bins and to give more loo rolls!
The music played around the pool was repeated alot which was quite annoying.
We stayed in room no 31 overlooking the pool which was good. Also the dogs barked alot around 3am which was not good, in general the holiday was good and we would return to the Cactus

Just got back from Cactus hotel and can honestly say as a family we had a fantastic time.
On arrival we were welcomed by a clean and lovely apartment although the only thing we found was a leaky trickling toilet which didn't really bother us!
Whilst on our way from the airport we were really worried as we knew we were going to Laganas we were allocation on arrival and as we have a 9 year old the thought of being in an 18-30,s hotel worried us! But we were very pleased!
Yes it was lively, but we wanted lively but to be able to sleep at night! and we did mainly we think its because we went in the early part of the season, we wouldnt return in July, August time and I would recommend to other families to stick to early season!
The pool area was lovely, clean warm pool, lots of sunbeds, music was good and the snack bar was great(great toasties)the staff were really friendly and it was really relaxing!
You must ask Yannis the night barman to make you his special vodie and mixer, great stop off point on your back from night out! Put it this way I crawled up the steps to our apartment! He is lovely and makes you very welcome!
The maids kept our apartment clean and nice they emptied bin every day and changed towels 2 times a week, nothing was too much trouble!
Watch out for the mossies they had a feast on our son but we are gonna book this week to return to the cactus next may!the location was great, busy strip not far away but enought not to hear with your shutters locked and the amazing beach was a stones throw away! Ten out ten!

The hotel was fantastic, everyone was really friendly.
The pool was fantastic - good music played. Rooms are standard, but clean and enough for basic needs - getting ready to party!
No worries about getting sunbeds in the day time. bar area very good - nice pre evening cocktails by Yanni. By far the best was Petros who runs the daytime bar - fab food and music.
Everyone would enjoy this holiday - top time and will go back next year.

At our stay in the Cactus we had the most amazing time!!!
Our group was aged: 40, 15 ,14 & 10.
All of us enjoyed it as the pool was of a good size!
The music was fantastic and had all the new songs.
The sunbeds were easy to get in the morning and throughout the day, which was good if you were planning a day out and then going back in the afternoon for a swim.
The cactus is in the perfect location, as you could go to the shop next door and also there is alot of restaurants nearby for night time, oo.. and the beach is just afew minutes away!
Self-catering was a good option for us because we could dine out in the evenings and have a snack at the bar at lunch.
The staff were fantastic!!!! Especially Yannis the bar man at night who let me pull a few pints behind the bar which was good fun and he gave out free shots which was also good!
I would Highly recommend the Cactus and we are hopefully going again next year as it is superb!

I visited the Cactus and I think it was up to good standard.
The hotel staff were friendly the food was tasty and I would definately visit this hotel again.
The rooms were clean and the staff did a great job to make it stay that way.
I strongly reccomend this hotel for families with younger children as there is pleanty entertainment and even a smaller pool for their own entertainment.

Cactus was amazing, but definately not for families. For younder people 18- 28 sort of age. Which I wanted since I was 18 when I went.
I didnt want to go to a hotel full of families!! Everyone at the hotel was fab! The location is the best for getting to the bars and clubs. I will be comming here for ever more..Laganas is amazing to do out in!!

This hotel is excellent for young people, as it is livly, and has a bar which is open into the early hours.Not at all good for familys. The rooms are nothing special but livable. The aircondition was a joke, paid goood money for it, and it didnt do any justice at all! The bar staff are lovly and bubbly. The maid is sneaky, in all we "lost" several items. Beach towls, shoes, perfume, skirts ect.. The pool is a nice size and good temp. The views from the rooms are extreamly boring! If you are young looking to have a mad holiday, it is ok!

I stayed at cactus in July 2003 with 1 friend.
it is standard accommodation but still nice. i would
not reccomend it to families with young children as a lot of fairly young groups were there and noisy but
definately for younger people as its a good laugh for them.
there was no entertainment of evenings although they did have fairly large tv screen when footie was on.
the pool was nice, music played round pool during the day. just dont cause trouble when going back to accommodation late at night as the owner does go mad at you.
good location for main strip of bars and clubs. would definately recommend bars called 'bad boys' and 'walkabout' (not like ours at home)

Personally my stay in the Cactus in Zakinthos was a nightmare I'll never forget the apartments stank of sewage 24 hours a day.The rooms were diabolical to say the very least the reps were never about when you needed them.There was millions of flies everywhere which were biting me like there was no tommorrow.Stray dogs starving and almost begging for food and attention.My toilet didnt even have a seat the cooker stank when turned on and the noise was incredible from people in around the apartments and went on 24 hours a day and I got very little sleep!! My friends feel exactly the same way as I do.I strongly recomend to give the Cactus a miss
