We have spent a duration of 4 weeks at Renton Manner, right from our arrival we were greeted with the upmost respect this continued throughout or stay.
Nothing was to much trouble from any of the staff they where all available at hand to help. Cleanliness was magnificent the rooms and linen where changed daily.
The food was excellent with a different variety theme each evening.
Entertainment was again excellent with a different theme and band playing each evening.
The hotel location is approximately 2 miles from the main area taxis are readily available from a price of rupees 100 which is approximately

If you arrive at night it looks splendid, however in the daytime it could do with a coat of paint.
Each block had its own cleaner who appeared to do the best they could.
We ate there 5 Evenings out of 7 and sometimes ordered meals not on the menu for the following evening, nothing was to much trouble and the presentation and quality was 10 out of 10. I witnessed several people who had eaten away from the hotel suffer a bout of deli belly, I would recommend the food at the hotel.
The hotel is a little out of the way from the action but this suited us, and taxis outside the hotel can take you to somewhere lively from about 60 pence.
All hotel staff were superb and nothing was to much trouble, even more so on the day before you were leaving when every waiter wanted to serve you and pay you extra attention, including telling you of their circumstances, this I suspect to increase your tipping. Having what I believe tipped well all week I didn't increase my tips but I didn't need the guilt trip from them. My tip to anyone going Renton manor, don't tell them when your going home.
Entertainment was Ok/good & we enjoyed the late night

The hotel was a definite no no.
We travelled to Goa for Xmas 2004. My children were mortified when we first arrived in Goa. A big culture shock and not for young children. I as an adult did not feel safe.
The hotel was totally shaded so you could not sunbathe.
When I got to the room (cell!) I broke down and cried. Moth balls everywhere the view at the back of the hotel looked like a cattle shed with locals sat round a fire. The bedding was very old and grey. Every night I had to put towels over the pillows as they were grey and fusty.
The waiters could not do enough for you but it was all about tipping which wore you down.
This was the worst hotel I have ever visited. I would not class it as a 2 star more a 1. If you are visiting Goa make sure you book a high star rating hotel. We had to move from our room on 3 separate occasions for various reasons i.e. broken windows, leaking bathroom etc.

After reading varying reports about this hotel I was apprehensive about what we were going to. However I was pleasantly surprised.
Although the rooms are basic they are clean, and we had clean towels every day with a different design on the bed every day.
The reception area can be a bit chaotic and if you're changing travellers cheques allow plenty of time!
It's only 5 mins from Baga by taxi which only costs 50 rupees.
I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent. There is no word in the english dictionary to describe how brilliant it was. It was so cool. I would definetly visit it again when I next come to Goa because it was so good. The service was great, pool was just right and the rooms were really spacious.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to Goa in the future because it was brilliant.

Renton Manor is quite basic, but rooms are spacious and the staff are very helpful.
A cold pool, a basic gym and a few shops add to the charm.
Especially welcoming is the Intimate karaoke bar which attracts locals and tourists alike and Louis the bar manager is a great guy as is Jude the owner.
The situation is wonderful, a 20 minute walk to the beach, an abundance of great shacks nearby, a lovely little village Arpora nearby, great scenery and we have stayed there twice. If you don't need 4 star luxury I can't fault it.

Goa is my favourite holiday destination and I am returning in January for my annual chill.
However, last January was my fourth visit to Goa and I was very disappointed in the accommodation at the Renton Manor. We are used to basic and accept that difficulties arise. However, we were disappointed in the staff
