We have stayed in the Donna Julia a few times , and have always found the staff helpful . The room,s are basic but very clean ,There are well tended gardens with a small pool and bar ,We are looking forward to returning ,in Nov ,

Stayed in Dona Julia for 5 nights in March.The hotel is situated off Holiday St Calangute only a short walk to the beach.
The setting is really lovely in beautiful gardens with a small swimming pool and snack bar. The staff were efficient and the rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed every other day. The room we had was a standard with a/c, reasonable but nothing special. The big problem was the bed. We have never experienced such a hard, uncomfortable bed in all our years of travelling. It was like sleeping on the floor, that was if you could get to sleep. The pillows were something similar, hard and lumpy. Would have left after the first night only we had committed to staying 5 nights when booking, a mistake!
When leaving we were not even asked did we have a nice time, were there any problems, or wished a safe onward journey as is normal in any hotel we ever stayed.
All in all, a nice location, nice gardens but awful beds. Would definitely not return to Dona Julia
