Stayed in Estrella in March, excellent location right on the beach, very friendly and efficient staff and very clean.Only problem we had was we requested and paid for upgrade room which we didnt get at first as Hotel Claimed they hadnt been advised by tour operator. Original room very small and grim and could not have survived 3 weeks in it, however, after a lot of discussion with rep and hotel were finally moved to an excellent room, very spacious and clean.
Breakfast served by the beach, lovely setting except for the flies.. they were everwhhere after the food and in most they were welcome to it!! Eggs, effs and more eggs. Havin said that we did get room service one nite when it rained and it was very good. Staff all friendly and helpful, enjoyed, particularly location

I feel I need to expand as there are many positive and negative attributes to each score.
Cleanliness: The room was spotless and well decorated. The gardens and paths are well maintained. The pool is comfortable and constantly cleaned. The four is beacause the cleaning equipment was kept outside our room (only our room) and I could not stand the smell of moth balls.
Food: Only had breakfast which was a buffet of fruit, veg?, bread, grilled tomatoes and corn flakes. All was covered well. To accompany this you have a cook for your eggs who will serve you any egg dish there and then. Next to him is a guy serving toast with tongs.
Tetley and Nescafe takes centre stage with a choice of hot or cold milk.
Every morning you are served with a fruit juice.
The only problem is that it is this for every morning and you will probably need to visit elsewhere to variety to your mornings.
Now for the location: Slap bang in the very centre of the poorest area on the whole strip. I felt that it was an amazing cultural lesson but i am the type of person that loves to rough it. it is very close to the beach but the 3 minute walk is through the locals toilet, dump and animal feeding area. The other direction takes you to the Baga - Calangute road which makes it perfect if you like both areas.
While we were there the Banana Festival was on. The area was transformed into a mini hindu Glastonbury. At first intimidating but eventually saying no thanks becomes as natural as breathing.
The staff: Unbelievable, undescribable. If you pay so much as one bit of attention to any of the staff they will reward you with a smile that will open your heart. I found all the staff extremely friendly at all times. The security guys are amazing and they will treat you like you are famous as you walk through the gates.
The entertainment was very good but it only happened thursday - sunday. Local musicians performing traditional music and/or classic holiday entertainment.
But lets face it. It is in Goa, and all you need is a secure environment to return to after spending the day in the constant sunshine to then nip off for the best food in the world in the best place in the world.
If you have any question then feel free to ask.
