From checking in it took us thirty minutes to check out and find alternative accommodation. Indian hotel standards are basic but this hotel was beyond that in both its unfriendliness and pure filthy state of the rooms. Jewel in the crown were neither helpful or sympathetic of our disgust of this hell hole. Lots of hotels nearby that will accommodate you. The fridge was growing a possible cure for an alternative to penicillin whilst the bare wires leading from the aircon on to the power source would be most parents’ nightmare
Avoid this place like a dose of clap which you would probably catch from the filthy bed linen.

Checked in this hotel 23 November at 7.30 am checked out again at 08.00am what a filthy dump. My advice to any fellow travellers who have booked this hotel is either cancel or change your accommodation. The room was dirty, the bedding had goodness know what in stains on it! It had a sinister feeling about the place, not friendly what so ever. The receptionist refused to change rooms and disagreed that the room was dirty

We have stayed at this hotel on the last 8 visits but will not stay here again. We found standards had really dropped. There was no one on reception who spoke English, JoJo was very rarely around for some reason, we couldn't find out why but on speaking to him found he had been doing some taxiing.
Most people had to change rooms as the rooms were very musty and damp with one person having water running down the wall. One of our party had no hot water for 3 days and had to change rooms. The room she had to spend the rest of 3 weeks had a very musty smell which never disappeared. The hotel smelt as though it had been shut up all through the monsoon and had not been open very long which was strange as it used to be a year round hotel.
Our toilet was leaking and we had to have a new one fitted and we were asked to use another room for a day and a night. We only used this for the shower and toilet and slept in our own room as the replacement room smelt horrendous and we were unable to sleep there. On the positive side I think we had one of the best rooms as apart from the toilet issue our room did not smell and we found the cleaning standards good except our rooms were not touched for 2 days over Xmas but this is to be expected.
There is also building work going on on two sides of the hotel which we were not told about, it begins at 8.30 a.m. and finished at 6 pm. We could not use our balcony which overlooked the pool as we were constantly ogled at by builders. On one occasion when we returned to the hotel for a drink around the pool we found all the tables and accompanying chairs had been removed apart from one and had to sit on the garden wall. The bar man said the owner had removed them. When the rep arrived he questioned this and everything was back the next day.
There were also no umbrellas around the pool this year. The breakfast was the usual 1 slice of toast with jam and tea or coffee. The hotel is in a great location which is the reason we always stayed there.

This is the fifth time we have stayed at this hotel and we have already booked to return in December 2010. We stayed for 3 weeks and because we are familiar with the hotel felt at home immediately upon arrival. The coach cannot pull up to the hotel so stops at the end of the road but the boys were out immediately to take our luggage from us and show us to our room on the ground floor at the front of the hotel. Our rooms were cleaned thoroughly early each day and towels and bedding were changed every other day which was sufficient. I think the rooms had been refurbished since our last visit. Breakfast was served at the end of the pool in the garden part of which is under cover. Tea/coffe is self service and toast, butter and jam is served although extras can be ordered from the menu at additional cost. We were happy with the toast as we ate well at lunchtime and evening. We stay at this hotel because it is in such a good location, very close to the beach. There are a few restaurants within 5 minutes walk and also a little shop on the way to the beach with very friendly owners which stocks whatever you may need and if they don't they are willing to get it for you. You can walk through the little village to the right of the hotel onto the main beach road in Calangute where there are more restaurants and many shops. Walking up the beach road you are in Calangute High Street with numerous shops and 2 or 3 Tibetan markets which sell lovely silver jewellry. Another great holiday.

Basic rooms but very clean ,towels and bedding changed daily.
Breakfast toast, tea or coffee, there were different options for a small charge, the staff were extremely ,good nothing was too much trouble.
Just a short walk to the beach via a road that was resurfaced in just two days dug and steam rollered one day hot stuff [tar]put down the next, it was quite an operation.
Eentertainment was in short supply unless you count the local magician and the traditional dance troup, which did,nt really bother us as it was our tenth visit to goa.
We enjoyed staying at the hotel we have booked to go again in February 2007. It is only the second time we have stayed at the same hotel in all the time we have been going, there are taxi,s outside at all times and the drivers are very good.
Cannot wait to go back.
