Our first visit to the Kenilworth then Tulip was 13 years ago.
Since then this year our ninth visit, but I don't think we shall return, a comment also made by other guests.
Changes involve many Indian conferences which causes congestion in the buffet area at breakfast, also hotel now caters for Russians who occupy about 70% and do not speak English, very few europeans.
Now dinner buffet in the coffee shop and three times a week theme evening with entertainment cost 1000/1200 rupees per person, other nights no entertainment.
The mangement have introduced a locked gate system so at 7.00pm no access to the beach shacks except by taxi or foot a long walk by road.
The hotel staff try their best but need more training and more of them in the food areas, service can be tedious.
The room we occupied and have done so for several years still has a shower that leaks onto the floor, we were told to put a towel to mop up excess water.
The hotel does have a good pool area but can be spoilt by loud music, we complained many times and eventually it was stopped also airline crews do stopovers of one to five days and they also can be noisy.

Our party of four adults atayed at the Kenilworth for a month in Feb 05. We had a great time. Comfortable rooms, always clean and a great choice of breakast. The location of the hotel is very good, being fairly central in Goa so you can get around both north and south. This is the third time we have been to Goa and we definately liked the Kenilworth Hotel more than the other two hotels we stayed in.
Only down side is the problem with sound proofing and the late arrivals of aircrew during the night which can disturb light sleepers. Ask for a ground floor room, this helps.
I would go back to the Kenilworth again and it is very good value for money.

The Kenilworth is styled on an old Colonial type hotel.
The rooms are very clean and have a small balcony with wicker chairs and lots of plants around. The beds are fairly comfortable and you have a small fridge in the room and also the essential air conditioning.
There is always plenty hot water and clean towels are supplied daily. Pool towels are available from the pool staff and are again changed daily. The breakfast is great -help yourself to lots of fruit, bread, cakes and hot food, which includes chefs to make you omelettes or fried/scrambled eggs.
The staff at the Kenilworth cannot do enough for you and are all so polite and always smiling. The pool area is lovely set in gardens leading down to the wide expanse of beach which goes on for miles.
If you want lots of night life this is not the place for you.
