We stayed 4 nights in this hotel at the end of March. We were on a budget, so price-wise it suited us fine, and we weren't disappointed.

We were warmly greeted on arrival, check in was quick and painless, and we were shown to our room, which was in the main part of the hotel. The room was quite small, but plenty of room to hang clothes and store cases without falling over them!

The bathroom is the typical Indian wet room, so if one person needs the loo after the other has showered, you have to go for a paddle! The air con had just been changed to a modern unit, which was extremely quiet. There are also 'club' rooms in a separate building, which are more luxurious, but our room was perfectly adequate for a short stay.
Breakfast wasn't included in our room rate, but was only 100Rs, a buffet with fresh fruit, juice, cereal, toast, a few pastries/cakes, and eggs cooked to order. Service was excellent.

The hotel is an excellent base to explore South Mumbai, and we hope to return.

Stayed in the Residency Fort for 2 nights in April. This hotel is excellent value for money in a very central location in Mumbai. The room, though not huge, was clean and adequate, the only problem was the a/c, noisy and could not be turned down, however with the humidity at the time this was not really a major drawback!
The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Yhe breakfast was adequate.
The hotel location is a major plus, near the VT Station , Flora fountain and a short walk to the Taj and Gateway to India.Lots of street markets near by and an endless supply of taxis to take you anywhere you wanted to go.
Mumbai is a fascinating city and The Residency Fort is an excellent choice for exploring it. Will definitely return

Mumbai is an expensive city and from the research I did before we travelled I knew that the Residency was an excellent price compared to other hotels. I booked through Expedia and the cost was around

stayed in the residency between the 24th nov to the27th nov first of all beware the taxi,s at the domestic airport we flew in from goa we got conned for 800rupees on the way back it was 400rupees,from the airport it is about an hour depending time of day,we had booked a room over the internet 2200rupees a night which is cheap for mumbai which I am told, wanted to book a suite for 2800 rupees but was told they dont hold suites?but wait till you arrive and if there is any no problem, well when we got there the guy said he would let us choose from 3 different rooms but thr first one was fine, but later my wife being a tipical woman said maybe we should have looked at the other two incase they where better, our room had a flat screen tv fridge two very comfortable twin beds usually the mattress,es are very thin these where great, breakfast was the usual tea/coffee toast jam eggs where extra but just outside they are many places to eat mahesh imo a bit overrated, yoko sizzlers fantastic and one near chowpatty beach which the locals use cafe ideal, the hotel was spotless, the area around the hotel was a bit shabby but the people where very friendly, another nice touch in the hotel was when you opened your door in the morning there was always a newspaper hanging there for you,as you may have noticed by the dates we stayed there it was the time of the attack the staff where very protective of my wife and myself and i cant thank them enough,we really enjoyed this hotel and WHEN not if we return i would look no further than this hotel.

If you've never been to India then I would suggest a 4star hotel. The hotel is 2 star so you get 2 star.

Rooms are basic but very clean and the staff were very helpfull in telling us the best places to see in the fort area of mumbai .

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it with the cst station just 10 mins away the fort is so busy and great for just people watching.

The place is so full of restaurants your spoiled for choice with the Mahesh lunch home famous for its sea food 2 mins away also internet in reception is free.

Dont get the hotel pickup as pre paid is so much cheaper
in the room is good clean shower and toilet tea and coffee and tv what beds are a little hard but didnt disturb our sleep.
