We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Sorrento staying in The Hotel Admiral.
The hotel is very clean throught and the maids came in to clean our room and change our towels every single day. The food was excellent with different menu choices every day, we can honestly say we didn't have one bad meal there.
The staff were really friendly and the resturant is run very efficiently, they are constantly keeping an eye on you making sure you are ok and have everything you need.
The entertainment consists of one man playing his electric piano in the bar area but he does play some nice songs! Our room had one of the biggest balconys and had the most amazing view so if you were planning to stay there we would suggest that you put a request in for room 106 and we guarantee you won't be dissapointed.
We would definately stay at this hotel again and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Very clean hotel with great views, very pretty location.
It might not be for people who want to be in centre of Sorrento each day and find it hard to walk, quite a steep stair climb to centre/Sorrento beaches where most of action is. Altough it is half the price of the hotels in the centre and in a better spot so its swings and roundabouts.
We wanted to get out and about and took the walk gently each day although I can imagine this may be too much for some, we counted over 80 steps. By the end of the holiday my legs felt it! There is a bus service from the marina however into town but we chose to walk to work off some of that amazing pizza!!
However in the Marina itself their are some restaurants and a beach- although as this is a fishing village the sea and beach are not the cleanest as lots of oil and bait floating around so usually only the locals on this beach.
The bar/food staff are great..lots of fun. Had problem when we first arrived got a side partial sea view room so had to complain, it could not be rectified till the next day so manager sent up bottle of champagne and where happy with the next room.
Only had breakfast at hotel, nice and basic continental, although I know they do offer half board we felt it a shame not to explore the authentic Italians restaurants each night- we where so right. Had some amazing meals.
After eating in many I can highly recommend la lanterna- in sorrento centre on the corner of the Main square and for something special but still quite cheap o' parrucchiano- we had 3 courses, champagne by candle light in the beautiful lemon garden for about

On arrival to the hotel you're dropped off a bit further down the road as cars and buses cannot reach the hotel itself. Arriving at night and in this manner you do become a bit sceptical but with the hotel staff collecting your luggage in a van and you making the short walk up you get to take in the amazing views you'll becoming accustomed to over you stay.
The hotel itself was extremely clean and just perfect for a base to explore the area from. Ensure you request a sea view room with balcony! We woke up on the first morning and walked out onto the balcony and were taken aback by the view! Mount Vesuvius just across the bay, amazing.
The hotel is in the quiet little area of Marina Grande and just a short, enjoyable walk up to the main town area of Sorrento.
All in all a fantastic hotel in a brilliant area!!!

Booked the Admiral with Thomson, although anxious because of other reviews. However, we found the hotel to be wonderful! It has the best location by far- 10 mins walk up some gentle steps to town, or 1 euro on the bus which runs every half hour.
There is some bathing platforms on the Marina Grande, but we preffered the beach which was very cheap-2.50 euro for sunbed hire, compared to 9 euro on the sorrento bathing platforms! the pool is nice, but the hotel gets shade after 4pm.
The staff are great and very friendly. Food is varied and tasty, and there is a gala and buffet dinner evrey week.
The rooms are very clean and nice, and the bathroom was fine.
I honestly think this hotel is teh best all rounder- situated away from the crowded and noisy centre, but very easy to get to it. You will find no other hotels in sorrento with a seaside location. Stunning views, great staff, great food and rooms.
Can't wait to be back!

Have just returned from a superb holiday at the Admiral! Where to start?!
Location:
The hotel is in the Marina Grande - the small fishing port of Sorrento. It is like the land that time forgot - true Italy - it is full of character and to watch the local people sit around and chat, mend their nets, putting out their nets at night and just 'living' is a real joy. It is real, grass roots Italy and we loved it. It is also very quiet and only about a 10 minute stroll into the busy town centre. Fair enough it is up hill but you can't have everything! We loved the walk into the busy town at night - it was just right. The Marina Grande is on the sea with a small beach and some of the best fish restaurants in the area. It was full of Italians having a meal out with friends and family - that says it all!
The hotel is right in the sea - quite literally the pool hangs right over the sea! In a nutshell, you couldn't get a hotel closer to the sea unless it was built on an inflatable or you were on a cruise ship! The views from the deck are superb - there are 180 degree panoramic views of the whole Bay of Naples from the deck and most hotel room balconies. We paid about
