I stayed in Hotel Eden in Sorrento for 1 week between 12th-19th July 2007 as part of a resort break on a 2 week tour of Italy with Cosmos.
We (my boyfriend and I, 23 & 28) really liked this hotel. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly and the location of this hotel in Sorrento was perfect! The hotel has a 'back door' which you can use which takes you out onto the main street of Sorrento. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and completely in the centre of Sorrento.
The rooms aren't the biggest.. and talking to other people we did get lucky with our room as it had a balcony and in this hotel I think that's rare. The hotel is very clean though and our room was cleaned everyday. The hotel has some lovely gardens where you can sit or the pool you can use is in the hotel next door.. Easy enough to get to.
We were staying half board although we did decide to eat out most nights - I didn't think the breakfast was very nice.. though they had a huge selection such as yoghurt's, croissants, cereals, fruit and tea/coffee. I found the evening meals were much nicer though and enjoyed dinner here.
We would stay here again and would recommend it.

I have just left eden hotel this morning and all i can say is that i'm already missing the fun it offers! the STAFF, hotel cleanliness and the modern commodities it offers make a very good holiday bundle! The rooms are very nicely furnished and welcoming after tiring excursions! .... Thankyou for making our holiday so special! :)

Hotel Eden,
I did enjoy buffet breakfasts. I also enjoyed the food and attention of waiting staff at the evening meals.
However I find the custom of putting a single diner on their own individual table very offputting as one feels not as just private, but somehow as rather prominently isolated. This has only happened to me once before in an historic Palermo hotel. (When I booked with Cosmos I imagined that as in others of their holidays I would be with a group of people and we would sit together etc.)
Also, I did enjoy this hotel's beautiful Mediterranean garden and the 2nd entrance on to the Corso. I could buy provisions at a shop opposite and do my own journeys by using the nearby train and bus station. I also enjoyed my single en suite room even though the bed was more suitable for a smaller person, the rest of the room was fine. The view from my window was of the backs of flats reminiscent of some Italian films, but I found it somehow romantic, and that a group of pigeons would come and nest on the ledge opposite me from dusk to dawn!
