Arrived at the Hotel after the usual turmoil at Mombasa airport, and 1 3/4 hr. transfer.greeted with a nice cold face wipe and cold fruit drink, check in very quick.First appearance at reception, very clean and spacious.First room we had was ok,but quite small as was the bathroom and very limited for hanging space in wardrobe,as we were there for 3 weeks we felt it was rather cramped, after 2days one of the reception staff came down and said there had been a mistake (Monarch error) and we were supposed to be in a superior room, they promptly moved us and that was great, more room and tea making facilities,if you visit here it's well worth the upgrade.Rooms were very clean, linen and beds changed daily, good aircon. and mozzie nets if required. The food was excellent , as was the restaurants, bars, pools and gardens. This was our third visit to Kenya(different Hotels),this was the best so far,and as usual the staff were absolutely brilliant,so helpful, polite and friendly.A barbeque was held every Thurs evening in
the grounds and were great, beef, pork, lamb, fish, kebabs, burgers etc.Cocktails at the bar were basic,if you wanted more exotic ones you had to pay,the Tusker draft beer was a bit tastless but ok for a cold drink mid afternoon,at least you get proper glasses and not vending cups like some hotels. The entertainment was average for a 3* hotel, the animation team worked very hard and did there best,if you want top entertainment go to a 5* and pay 5* prices. There is a dress code for dinner, gentlemen are asked to wear trousers and not shorts, but the amount of people who ignored it was unbelievable and the staff were too polite to tell them, we just put it down to their ignorance. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel in the future, and would highly recommend it as value for money.
