the first thing I noticed when we arrived was the fact that the managers both came to greet us and continued all through our stay to enquire every day as to the guests welfare.
this is the first ever hotel I have been to where management actually mixed with the guests unless there is a problem and I have been to a lot of hotels in different country's.
we were then shown to our room which was a creek view room, this room was large with tea+coffee facility's,fridge and large bathroom with bath and shower cubicle.
you have the same room boy for your stay and he cleans twice a day every day putting your mossie net ready for the night etc.
always friendly as were all the staff they could not do enough for you and never asked or even hinted for tips for doing things for you.ok will try to break this down a little.
FOOD
we were on the half board option which was breakfast ranging from cereals, bacon, egg, sausage, toast, croissants, fruit, juice and tea+coffee.time's were 7.00--9.30
evening meals were different every night like Indian,Italian etc and on Fridays was a BBQ on the beach.
all the food was buffet style and very good.if you wanted snacks for lunch these ranged from toasted sandwich to home made pie, fish, burgers etc...
ACCTIVITIES
this hotel is very relaxed and peaceful though the entertainment team do provide things to do if you want like bingo night, coconut bowling, disco, and some nights they had people in to entertain you.massi dancers, acrobats and magic show.
daytime activities include walks to local village/town,to the ruins and snake park, water polo, fishing off the jetty, board games, pool table, darts, table tennis, crazy golf and a small golf course and squash.
there are also bikes you can use free of charge.
they also have a TV room and satellite TV for the football/ rugby games which they were only to pleased to reserve for you to watch your fav match.
most people tended to go to bed early but you can always find someone to talk to as its a small friendly place.
DRINKS
beer was tuskers, spirits they had top brands like baccadi or local brands which was cheaper.
problem we found was they did tend to run out of little things like diet coke, baccadi once and orange juice.
BEACH
the hotel has its own private beach which is like having it to yourself most times as most people cant be bothered to walk down cardiac hill so they stay by the pool.we spent most of our time on the beach fishing and when it got hot we just pop to the beach bar great..
they also provide free non motorised water stuff like sailing boat, kyacks, fishing rods and snorkel equipment.
STAFF
well what can I say they were perfect always happy, always willing to help you and just have a good long chat .everyone from the gardener to the reception were great though I will name a few Phillip and dima the barmen, masha and harry the waiters, tabither on reception,David out room boy and samira and john the animation team.
all truly wonderful a credit to the hotel.
all in all a true paradise in a quiet part of kenya.
I can defiantly recommend it.
