An interesting French colonial style mansion, sympathetically restored and renovated to provide 29 guest rooms in the appropriate style.
Our room was a delightful and tastefully decorated double room with all modern amenities, presented in a French Colonial style. The only slight downside was the lack of sufficient hanging and drawer space. The location was quiet, the bed very comfortable and it was possible to enjoy very restful overnight accommodation.
The dining room was well laid out and whilst we only took breakfast (excellent quality and service) during out stay, I have no reason to doubt that the quality and ambience for all meals would be more than satisfactory.
There was an inside bar area, between the lobby and the dining room, with further seating at an outdoor side-walk cafeĀ style area.
All staff, from check-in through housekeeping and service were attentive, helpful, polite and well trained.
There is a smallish pool which was one of the reasons for booking this hotel. Unfortunately this was also the only major downside that we came across. Having only 11 sun loungers for 29 rooms we never managed to find space after trips out in Vientiane.
The hotel is reasonably well located. A 10 minute walk from the Mekong, slightly less to several restaurants and about 15 minutes to the Patuxai, Wat Sisaket and That Luang.
A good base for 2 or 3 days.
This is a personal opinion, based upon a 3 night stay.
