We were upgraded on arrival to a premier king on land room, this was on the edge of the forest overlooking the sea. We were in a block of four rooms and never heard any noise from our neighbours.
Room was clean and well maintained. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower and twin basins. The bathroom was open to the bedroom so you could sit in the bath and watch the TV! There was a Venetian blind which could be shut for privacy.
Tea and coffee were provided in the room and each evening a turn down service, left cookies or chocolate. A fresh fruit bowl in the room on arrival.
From the balcony we could watch plenty of wildlife, including sea eagles, langurs, macaques, flying lemurs and a vast variety of beautiful birds. Every morning also beautiful sunrise.
The hotel grounds were amazing, the rainforest full of animals, trees and flowers, the mangrove area, the white sandy beach and a large pool.
Food in the hotel was more expensive than outside but very good. Breakfast was either a full buffet in one restaurant or waiter service in the beach restaurant. The Thai restaurant was in a lovely position on a pier over the sea and is very good.
The hotel is quite large over a large area of grounds and runs shuttle buses to get to your room, this runs very smoothly.
Taxis are easy to get and very reasonable to all over the island.

We stayed in a sea view chalet, which was fairly basic, but had all the essential things you need.
The bed was massive, and very comfy, and the room very spacious.
The bathroom could have done with a make-over, tiles worn and cracked, but at least the shower worked okay.
Outside there was a small veranda, which was nice to sit on with a drink and relax.
The location of the hotel, was quite a distance from the main town on Langkawi, but very close to the oriental village, and the cablecar.
The chalet was cleaned daily, and the staff were always helpful.
