We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks from the 28th Dec 2006.
The accomodation consists of cabanas, which we found very well designed(plugs in helpful locations, space for storing toiletries-little things that sometimes are lacking) but in need of upgrading. The decor was grubby and the furniture dated. But the idea of having your own detatched ensuite bedroom with minibar, tea/coffee making facilities and satellite tv in such a beautiful setting makes up for the need for redecoration!
Our cabana was up from the beach a little amongst the trees. On our first nite when sitting on the balcony we were visited by the resident monkey family. There was a newborn baby monkey which was beautiful to watch as it clung to its mothers chest. The birds are numerous and of many different types. There are also a couple of large iguanas that make appearances by the pool and under cabanas at different times of the day.
There are beach front cabanas and ones nearer to the main hotel building which contains reception, restraunt, bar and internet facilities.
The hotel has another restaraunt , The Seashell Cafe at the beach (two mins walk) which has an extensive menu. We ate there both for lunch and dinner on occasion and found the food very good. A live band play there every evening apart from monday until 1am. So perhaps a cabana away from here might be an idea if you like to go to sleep early.
Prices are quite similar to home, slightly cheaper.
Breakfast is buffet style with a wide variety of choice. Omlettes, waffles, pancakes made to order at stations which change during the week. It is served from 7.00 until 10.30 so if you go early is very quiet.
There is a spa in the hotel grounds which I didn't use - so cannot comment.
Sampan bar is an old boat situated on the beach, round from the main front beach , really nice to sit and have a drink at the end of the afternoon.
There are watersports available - windsurfing, jet-ski and kayaking.
15 Ringgits for a kayak for an hour (
