We booked a 19 night all inclusive package and travelled with First Choice Premier Class. However, apart from the priority check in and additional baggage allowance, the free drinks and a choice of menu for the main meal I don`t think it is worth the additional cost. Next time I will save money and stick to the Star Class.
Quick and easy transfer from Male (about 20 mins by speedboat which is quite refreshing after 11 hours on a plane). Greeted at the jetty with orange juice and cold face towels which is a nice touch.
Room allocation took about 10 minutes and the cases were swiftly transferred for you. Rooms are nothing special but have everything you need and the air conditioning was essential
The resort is quite spacious and although the resort was about 70% full it never felt as though it was.
The meals are all buffet style but the choice is very good and all tastes are catered for. The sweets are especially popular and the chef is always around to accept the compliments which are well deserved. The kitchen staff are all very pleasant and always had a smile. They worked hard to make sure every body was happy. The waiters too all try to make your stay memorable. In fact all the resort staff were very good.
Restaurant tables are alocated on arrival and you will be seated with another couple. This added to our experience and we met some lovely couples during our stay.
The resort is very well run and the all inclusive package covers everything you will need. Even sandwiches are provided between mealtimes !!
I did a PADI diving course with the resident diving school whilst we were there and this was a fantastic experience and very reasonable at $500 US. It was a great way to see the amazing coral reefs and its wildlife. Thanks to the instructors Bryony, Uwe, Matthias, Freddy and Kirsten for their help.
Also the free snorkelling trips twice a day from the resort are especially good and we saw dolphins, sharks, turtles, moray eels and manta ray as well as the usual array of tropical fish soup.
The beach areas are also well looked after and are a credit to the staff who are out and about from 7am. The location was quite close to Male and the airport so there is a fair amount of air and boat traffic but this added a bit of variety and didn`t bother us at all.
Overall the experience was fantastic and a great introduction to the Maldives. I would recommend it to anyone without any hesitation.
