Apart from the hotel looking drab my only critism was the uninviting dining room. the main courses were ok if you arrived as a new tray of food was being put out, other than that they tended to be dried up. There was a very poor salad bar, poorly presented and practically no choice of sweet, not even fresh fruit. But as others have said you get what you pay for and we could have eaten out for about

It wasn't as bad as we expected as we knew not to expect luxury.
OK, the food isn't great or the decor. But they must be doing something right for the customers to be coming back year after year.
The second time we went we decided to try the Venus and it was an improvement on Palm Court.
The rooms were nicer and it was quieter.
The food is brought over from the Palm Court, but if you consider that to stay Self-catering in most places in Malta works out a lot dearer, you do get a bargain.
We occasionally ate in, but only really as a snack before going for a meal in one of the many beautiful restaurants in the area.
This hotel (and the Palm Court) are great if you are on a budget and don't mind "roughing" it slightly.
If you are expecting luxury and 4**** DON'T book here as you will be disappointed.
If you are the type of person that never leaves your hotel block for the fortnight- maybe look at going elsewhere on the island as these 2 hotels are more of a base, but there is entertainment on of an evening and they are pretty close to lots of bars and restaurants for you to try other things.
The staff are all very friendly and all speak excellent English. I can't fault them at all.
The rooms are cleaned every day and the maids are very nice.
We are going back in May again (to the Venus) and I can't wait!

We were very disappointed with the restaurant were there were red plastic table clothes on the tables and we had to help ourselves out of pans with lids on that were seen to be carried from Palm Court across the road. The toaster used for breakfast was from the ark ages which took ages to toast and then only did one side. Upon walking in the restaurant we had to pass two dirty toilets with the doors wide open. Even though we booked half board we decided to have our meals out which made our holiday quite expensive.
There were no entertainment what so ever and the bar was never open.
We asked for a cup of tea whilst waiting for our transfer coach and was told we would have to go across the road to Palm Court for one.
We will definitely not be returning to Venus or Palm Court again.

What a mistake...huge.
We went half board the food I can only describe as muck. It was cold and presented in big stainless steel trays that were dirty. The back wall was filthy covered in food splashed and not cleaned. If I had rubber gloves and bleach I would have cleaned it myself. The smell was vile. They advertised that they had a carvery...what a joke a member of staff sat with a big knife and fork with a small stump of meat on. Breakfast no better, cold dried up rubbish. We ate twice once because it was our day of arrival second because we tried to give them a second chance. After that we ate out. Dining room curtains dropping off the rails.
Floor dirty. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
Our room was actually okay clean and basic but no probs. We even had a sea view! No shower just an attachment on the bath taps that was useless. The hotel however was shabby the entrance to the hotel uninviting grey blandness.
Now I know you get what you pay for but I don't care whether you have paid

I needed a quiet Holiday and thats what I got, I have travelled on lots of aircrafts, but I thought this was the best to date due to the comentary via the pilots keeping updated all the way to our destination, the staff were very nice. I have no idea what the hotel is like in the summer, but at the time it was all oap's and they were also friendly. For the amount of money I paid I was'nt getting robbed.

Food was disgusting. It was badly cooked, badly served and of a very poor quality, often cold. Powdered soup lumpy, meat of terribly poor quality, vegetables, including potatoes, dreadful. Dining room staff were untrained, surly, and looked miserable.
Top management staff were unhelpful and when approached had a stock reply,"Leave it with me". Nothing we complained about improved during our two week stay.
Entertainment was non existent, and the general ambiance of the hotel was depressing and dull.
Luckily the hotel was well situated for getting out and about as this, and the weather, were the only saving grace of our holiday.
We would never recommend or revisit this hotel. We question the 3 star rating!!!!!

The room was filthy and during our one week was not cleaned
When we complained to the rep he was not interested and when we asked the hotel to clean the rooms were were told the housekeeper was in the UK but they would inform the stand in.
On the last day someone cam into the rooms whilst we were out and took one of the beds.
Despite that we had a good time in Malta, as we did not want to stay in the rooms for any lengh of time, but if the hotel had been better we could have had a great time.
The receptionists were very unfriendly probably due to the complaints.
This hotel should not be on any hotel as you would not send an animal there to live even for a week.
We will certainly be back to Malta but not to that hotel.
