The hotel is set right on the sea-shore with ocean views from all rooms. Normally we do not prefer ground-floor rooms but here they were ideal for taking the shade on the patio when the sun was at its strongest.
Arrival at the hotel where we were greeted with cold face cloths to freshen up after our flight was very welcome!
Check-in went quickly and we were shown to our room - baggage arrived shortly after.
The room was excellent with choice of when fresh towels were needed. Beach towels are provided so you do not need to bring your own. In-room safe was very useful for valuables. The room had air-condition and a ceiling fan - take your pick. Lighting could have been better in the bathroom especially for the ladies who need that extra for their make-up.
The food and beverages were extremely good with varied menus throughout our two-week stay. I have difficulty with spices and herbs and had a "sour" stomach for a few nights which disturbed my sleep. No fault of the food, just my own digestion problem. This was quickly resolved by the dining-room staff by pre-ordering plain grilled chicken or fish which was prepared perfectly. No more disturbed nights.
Water-sports were available free of charge and many guests took advantage of these. We were more cautious due to the very strong sun.
There is a small shop on the premises providing British, French and German newspapers and magazines as well as necessary toiletries plus clothes and souvenirs.
Entertainment was provided every evening but did not disturb those who needed an early night.
A small beach was satisfying for those who wished to sit close to the sea and take a dip in the warm Indian Ocean. The beach was kept very clean each day.
The big, big recommendation for this hotel is the staff. They are fantastic. The hotel is big enough to give the service one needs but is also small enough to give the service one does not expect. The extra touch where one becomes known and is greeted each day by name. Exceptional!
