The hotel was quite clean but a little out of the way. Not mch going on for us. If we were all 18-25 we would have been ok, drinking, drinking oh and more drinking. It was very expensive getting taxis everywhere. Why dont they provide a courtesy bus?

We stayed at the Riu Jalisco in May/June 2006.
First impressions of the hotel was good.
Quick and easy check in with the bubbly First Choice rep Sandra.
The hotel and grounds are kept very clean and tidy with houskeeping staff cleaning continuously day and evening.
The food was not up to the standard of a 4* plus and certainly not as good as other Riu hotels I've stayed in. We had upset stomachs on 2 occasions and so did quite a few other people we spoke to.
Only 20 minute tranfer but the location of the hotel was quite remote and you need to get a Taxi if you want to shop or go to restaurants outside of the hotel. There is building work going on adjacent to the hotel. You cant hear the building work thanks to the americans they outdid the building noise.
The hotel staff were always very friendly.
The evening entertainment on the few occasisions we tried to watch it was non existent. It was mainly audience participation playing silly games, I dont call that entertainment. The animation team in the day time worked very hard and the activities were there if you wanted them. Sadly a lot of the afternoon activies took place in and around the pool, so you could forget your afternoon siesta.
The hotel was more like an american 18-30's hotel. They were just out to party 24-7. We had very little sleep with the contant shouting, music, moving of furniture, filling of ice buckets and on one occasion setting off the fire alarm at 3am. We had to move to a different area around the pool on 2 occasions due to the rowdyness and bad language.
If you want a hotel where you can drink and party 24-7 then the Riu Jalisco is for you.
