This hotel is immaculate - our third visit. We are very fussy and travel with young children so need the resort to be safe and 5 star. We have already booked to go again.
Staff are amazing. The resort is massive with plenty of room for private family time on the beach, no trouble finding sun loungers. Kids club is fabulous. Food is great, so many great restaurants all included in the All Inclusive package including Mexican, Brazillian, Steak House, Chinese and Japanese.
Enormous pools, private pools, lots of wildlife, and stunning hotel generally.

I can see why this hotel was given 5 stars, but if they looked slightly deeper it may have only been a 4. There are 4 hotels that you can use facilities at, but when you first arrive it is very difficult to get to where you want to go as it is so big and i can guarantee you will get lost! (although there is a train but we didnt want ot wait 15 mins for it to come)
It is based in a jungle of thousands of acres, so i would recommend jabs highly. You will come into contact with iguanas round the adult pool guaranteed and they may even pinch your sunbed when you are in the pool! There are lots of animals in the jungle from monkeys and spiders and allsorts of others.
This hotel looks lovely, the staff are highly committed to helping you and are very poorly paid -one dollar per hour and dont get paid for overtime so they will rely on you tipping them.
AT first i thought the food was great, lots of choice and looked fresh and warm. By the 5th day i was very poorly tho with stomach pains , diarhoea and feeling extremely sick. I then started to just eat fries as didnt know if it was something id eaten which had upset me. All food is very flavoured in the buffet restuarants and is highly aimed at the vast amount of rude americans which we felt overun by! The beach bar food was not always warm enough and there was no microwave, although one beach bar served fresh.
There is alot of water here, from the rivers, to the 5 pools to the sea and fish ponds. I wouldnt advise young children to go there as if they run off and the marble flooring (which is everywhere) is wet they are highly at risk of falling into the ponds which didnt smell very nice to say the least.
Entertainment is low key, but bar service is great. The staff are lovely, all spirits regardless of brand are available and local beer and wine too. There are no alcopops so if you usually drink weaker drinks, stick with soft drinks!
The beach is lovely, although some tramps use the beach as an ashtray and this is not nice particualry for non smokers trying to avoid stepping in it. Once in the sea the sand is gorgeous and the water no less than 25c.
I highly recommend catamaran trip and f1, we booked with thomsons but are much cheaper if you take a taxi to puerta venturas and book from here (harbour) We booked with thomsons to stay safe but i really dont think it would hurt to take taxi or buses to harbour and book there.
Just a quick tip, watch what you are doing in the lobbys toilets- the first day i locked it and couldnt get out, luckily somebody went to get staff but by the time they got there i managed to figure it out! I didnt lock the toilet door after that, was too worried as feeling locked in is horrible, The toilets are nice and clean and have incence being burnt in them to keep them smelling nice.
Overall it was a nice holiday, but i personally wouldtn go back as the trip was so far and as most hotels are all inclusive the food really did put me off as there was no where else to eat that i would have trusted.
Make sure you take plenty of strong insect repellent and suncream. It was 25 when we first went out but by the end of the week had reached 33. Dont worry about rain even tho its rainy season. It rained when we got to the aiport first day and had had a bad storm the night before- i was really put off by this but when it dried up which didnt take long it was scorching. The only time it rained again was our 5th night (2nd july) when there was a big storm in the night, if you are in white sands you will be near the beach and it will be very loud but not scary! If yuou`ve booked to go here dont worry, i think you will be impressed by service, just keep an eye on what you eat and make sure you have your jabs.
