This Hotel is the best Hotel I have ever stayed in, well worth the 5 Star rating. The Hotel is beautiful, immaculate and spotlessly clean. Most of the guests were American, as it was their Spring break. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. The 5 A la carte restaurants are superb, as is the buffet restaurant, with a great choice of food and excellent waiter service.
The swimming pools were great and a lovely local beach. The RIU entertainment team were excellent and made our stay a lot of fun. The Evening entertainment was very good.
A great two week relaxing holiday.

We stayed at the RIU Palace for 2 weeks over xmas, and had an amazing time throughout the holiday. The hotel truly is 5* and is as good as it looks online and in the brochure. The full hotel, inside & out is SPOTLESS & is cleaned around the clock! The hotel staff are amazing and are all so friendly; a special mention must go to Albundio who is bar manager in the lobby bar - he is a star & we have yet to hear of a cocktail that he can't make!! The range of drinks available within the hotel is fantastic & all spirits are branded (and are the best of brands) there is also a good choice of wine & champagne. The restaurants/food are again first class, we tried all of the restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The entertainment was - for our taste - mediocre, but then again you are a 5 minute walk from the bars/clubs of Cancun so that was not a problem. All in all we had a fantasic holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone!

This hotel was excellent in all aspects. The staff are constantly cleaning the place is spotless.
The food is superb I defy anyone to say they went hungry!
The entertainment was ok - we have stayed at riu hotels before and found the animation teams excellent but not this time unfortunately.
The hotel staff were always smiling and wanting to make sure you were happy - I swear they worked 24hrs!

Well, I have just only recently just got back back from the Riu Palace Las Americas & it was amazing a 5* hotel!
You could also use the facilities next door at the Riu Cancun (but they can't use yours hehe!) they have a disco till 2am & a sports bar 24hrs!
But the Riu Las America's is brill, very classy! there is 5 a la carte restaurants & 1 buffet. The a la carte are Japanese, Brazilian, gourmet, Spanish & steakhouse! I preferred the Spanish mmmmm! You do have to book the day before between 5-6pm.
The rooms are gorgeous, over looking the sea with the big balcony (Room 729). They have two big double beds, settee, huge bathroom! The only thing is when the air conditioning is, on close the balcony door, as there is condensation & is very slippy!
In the room you have a mini bar re-stocked every 2days with beer, mixers(7-up, Pepsi)& water, also optics in your room, whisky, bacardi, brandy & Smirnoff vodka! (restocked 2 days too!
The staff here are excellent!!!! The entertainment is good, especially the Michael Jackson show on a Monday night! Really good!
The beach is gorgeous too!!!
The bar staff are excellent, there is a bar outside the Japanese restaurant called Rafoldo (he is so funny!!!!) & there is a very sexy barman in the Arte Deco (lobby bar) called David, he is excellent as well!
We only went for 7 Nights, but everything was absolutely spot on!

I echo everything that has been said above. Acosta was one of our favourite waiters too.
We spent most of our time round the party pool and was highly entertained by the animation team, they work so hard, but were not at all pushy if you just wanted to watch.
This hotel and the staff were all first class and if I had to complain about anything it would be certain guests not knowing how to close their room doors quietly!! This was only a tiny niggle and the hotel would have do something about it if we had said anything.
I can't wait to go back.
We saw a couple of weddings while there (one was an Irish couple on 4th July I think) and the co ordinator certainly looked like she was doing a good job.

FANTASTIC
This hotel would be very hard to beat, not only the rooms and facilities but also the staff.
We have stayed in many Riu hotels and this one tops the lot it is also our second time here which also helps.
There was 13 of us stayed at this hotel as our daughter got married here. If anybody reading this is contemplating doing the same I would advise you to deal direct with Riu with the wedding coordinator in the hotel because we paid Thomas Cook double the amount it would have cost us to deal direct with the hotel wedding Rep because all Thomas Cook did was Email the hotel of the date we wanted and Riu did the rest, so be warned.
FOOD
There are loads of restaurants in the hotel and are all part of the A/I deal but to make sure you get a reservation you have to be quick as a lot of people prefer the restaurants to the buffet. Its not difficult all you have to do is ensure that you queue up at the restaurant you wish to eat at, the day before at 17:00 PM then make your reservation. If you want the Japanese (favorite) you needed to be there at 16:30 pm to ensure that a table and time was of your choice.
