This quaint Riad was perfection it'self. Situated 5 minutes away from the chaos of the Jemma Al Fna square it serves as an oasis of calmness and tranquility. The riad is quite hard to find so we asked the owners Vincent and Michael for an airport transfer which cost 15 Euros return which was money well spent.
The rooms were spotless and very well decorated in the typical Moroccan style. Breakfast on the roof terrace was lovely. Rooms contain ensuite facilities with hairdryers. Our room opened onto the beautiful courtyard with fountain. The Riad has free internet access and meals can be cooked on request.
Michael and Vincent can also organise guides and trips for you if you wish. The best thing about this Riad is that it's child friendly. I was turned down by 4 properties who didn't accept children so it was nice to be welcomed by Dar K'hmissa.
The Riad was very reasonably priced which is another plus point as some of them are very overpriced indeed. I feel we had excellent value for money. One thing that did worry me was the fact that I had to send a bankers draught to a French bank account to assure my deposit. Apparantly this is quite common in Morocco, but a total first for me, however everything was fine just to reassure anyone doing the same thing. Vincent answers emails very quickly and informs you well prior to your trip.
For us, Marrakech was a sight to behold. We loved every minute of it. The smells, the sights, the sounds, the hassle, the shopping. My son of 8 got so much out of the trip, seeing life from a totally different perspective.
Should you be thinking of booking this Riad, my advise is don't hesitate it 's fantastic and a real experience. As for Marrakech, it's an experience!
