We have stayed at this hotel many times so my review is probably biased but some things are as good every time we go. The staff are very friendly and helpful Zube the head waiter runs the restaurant very efficiently.
The reception staff are helpful and efficient, and last but not least the wonderful chambermaids who clean our rooms to a very high standard.
Only one slight criticism. We preferred the restaurant as it was when we had a very good a la carte menu. Now it is the Grand Sofra restaurant. It was busy as they now advertise to other hotels that they run a free taxi service both ways. Service can be very slow, in fact, on our last night they forgot our bread olives all together!
The food is good but we remember the other menu.
That being said, everything else about the hotel is great.

for a relaxing holiday this is the hotel to book. The hotel is very clean, staff are constantly clearing glasses and plates.Rooms are cleaned well and linen changed every couple of days.
Breakfast is acceptable. Good choice of cereals, bread rolls, hot food. You can have poached/fried eggs or omelettes at no charge. The evening meals are taken on the terrace. The a la carte menu is excellent with a good variety. Tea/coffee and brandy are complimentary after your meal.Good lunches at the pool bar.
Hotel is quite a stroll from kyrenia on a very fast road. Taxi costs 10TL,but a dolmus is only 2TL and will always stop for you.
All the hotel staff are great from reception to cleaners. Nothing is too much trouble and they are all very friendly and efficient.
We enjoyed a Cyprus night around the pool. The buffet was very good and the Kleftico was wonderful.Guy on keyboard played the sort of music that people could dance to.
Thia was our third visit and we will be back next year!!!!!!

another wonderful week at the Ship. Felt like going home!!All the staff from management down were very friendly. As we were b/b we had meals from the a la carte menu.Really, really good. Zube the head waiter runs a good team.
Not much in the way of entertainment. We had a cypriot night round the pool. The kleftico was wonderful, a great night.
Yes we would visit again in fact next september!!
PS it is not that near a beach so if that is essential to your holiday its not the place for you, but if you like a small hotel and lots of friendly people give it a try.

We have just got back form a lovely holiday booked in The Ship Inn Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus. Me and my boyfriend were looking for somewhere to go and relax a bit as we both have very stressing jobs. We also wanted to see a bit of sunshine as we do not have much in The UK. But we didn

If you want peace and quiet but also with the possibility to be within walking distance of town and nearby restaurants ( Archways is excellent)and bars then this is your choice star choice! St Hilarion is behind this hotel and there is a good path to ascend to this magnificent castle directly behind the hotel, if you are reasonably fit.
The hotel staff were extreemly friendly and helpful. There is an indoor heated pool as well as an excellent outdoor pool. The area surrounding the pool is green and luxurious with abundent birdsong.
Next time I visit Northern Cyprus I will definately stay at The Ship.
I stayed at the Bella Pais for the first week and although the hotel was fine the Ship is far superior.
Hire car at exceelnt rates can be arranged by the reception for pickup at the hotel!
If you are due to visit Kyrenia ( Girne, pronounced Gear Nah ) do yourself a favour and stay at the Ship.
Also I recommend the Animal Rescue Center in Beshparmak. You are welcome to take the doggies for a spectacular walk around Five Finger Mountain. It's Fun!

The Ship Inn was a very informal friendly hotel.
The rooms were clean and had a mini bar and kettle. Take tea and coffee with you as you have to pay for this. We were on Bed & Breakfast but we did try the half board menu two nights and it was excellent. It is waiter service and the atmosphere, service and food was of restaurant quality and better than anything we tried outside the hotel (and much cheaper).
Entertainment was on one night only which included the usual belly dancer (we've seen better)but the trio was excellent and waiters and guests all joined in the dancing and a good night was had by all.
We would recommend this hotel and if we went to Northern Cyprus again we would certainly stay there.
